摘要: A computer method that is used to control call center volumes for a range of dates. The method involves utilizing previous mailing campaign and call center response data to determine when the mail arrives in the home and when a call center is contacted in response to information in the mail; predicting the call center volumes based initially on the previous campaign and call center response data and as the mailing campaign and call center responses progresses updating call center predictions based on current mailing campaign data; and determining in home mail volumes needed to control call center volumes.

摘要: A system and method of the present invention forms a hybrid encoded signal. A signal generator generates a coded waveform having a trellis structure, such as a continuous phase modulated signal. A modulator is operative with the signal generator and adds at least one orthogonal or amplitude modulated waveform to a trellis structure of the coded waveform to create a non-constant envelope modulated signal that has at least one of increased bandwidth, improved bit error rate, or an increased number of bits encoded into a single symbol.

摘要: Systems and methods for delayed function activation in a responsive environment are described. A responsive environment includes an intermediary system and notification manager to determine when a responsive environment will launch an application triggered by a sensed event. The environment includes sensor components and transparent software components that reside wholly within the environment for providing responsiveness. The environment also includes interactive software components that give users the means to provide input and/or experience output. Since changes to the interaction components may disrupt the user by requiring the user”s attention when it is not convenient, the system helps the user manage the responsive environment by using an application/function delay technique. The environment uses intelligence and notification mechanism to determine what might be useful and primes the apparatus to provide that functionality. However, the user actually initiates the execution of that function.

摘要: Systems and methods for determining location by implication are described. A responsive environment includes a location determination method that operates in an area that is only partially instrumented with location-sensing devices. Some of the with location-sensing devices sense location ambiguously. For example, a location-sensing device may be deployed at a boundary between two target objects or areas of interest. The location of the target object, as reported by such devices, is considered ambiguous. While the object or person is known to be in a space, it is not clear which specific space. The location of ambiguously located objects can be disambiguated based on changes in the location of other objects. For example, if a document is placed on a shelf in an office, such action strongly implies that someone is in the office. Therefore, if a person is known to potentially be in the office or the outside hallway, the person”s location is changed to be in the office.

摘要: Systems and methods for consistent deployment of sensors for both physical and virtual objects in a context aware environment for responsive environments are described. A method and apparatus that supports user interactions with both virtual and physical objects wherein any type of object can be explicitly instrumented with a sensor, either virtual or physical. User actions are sensed through these sensors and responses can be determined consistently, regardless of whether the object is physical or virtual.

摘要: Various load and store instructions may be used to transfer multiple vector elements between registers in a register file and memory. A cnt parameter may be used to indicate a total number of elements to be transferred to or from memory, and an rcnt parameter may be used to indicate a maximum number of vector elements that may be transferred to or from a single register within a register file. Also, the instructions may use a variety of different addressing modes. The memory element size may be specified independently from the register element size such that source and destination sizes may differ within an instruction. With some instructions, a vector stream may be initiated and conditionally enqueued or dequeued. Truncation or rounding fields may be provided such that source data elements may be truncated or rounded when transferred. Also, source data elements may be sign- or unsigned- extended when transferred.

摘要: The present invention relates to the discovery, identification and characterization of toxic agents which are lethal to pathogens and methods for targeting such toxic agents to a pathogen or pathogen infected cells in order to treat and/or eradicate the infection. In particular, the present invention relates to toxic agents which target bacteria at different stages of the bacterial life cycle, which are delivered alone or in combination to bacteria or bacteria-infected cells. The invention relates to toxic agents which are lethal to diseased cells and methods for targeting such toxic agents to a diseased cell in order to treat and/or eradicate the disease. The present invention relates to promoter elements which are pathogen-specific or tissue-specific and the use of such promoter elements to achieve pathogen-specific or tissue-specific expression of the toxic agent(s) and/or ribozyme(s) of the present invention. Specifically, the invention relates to the delivery of one or more toxic gene products, antisense RNAs, or ribozymes, or combination thereof. The invention provides a novel system by which multiple pathogenic targets may be simultaneously targeted to cause the death of a pathogen, or cell infected with a pathogen. Further, the invention has important implications in the eradication of drug-resistant bacterium and bacterial pathogens. The invention provides a novel system by which multiple targets may be simultaneously targeted to cause the death of a diseased cell. The invention also has important implications in the eradication of drug-resistant pathogens and drug-resistant diseased cells (such as cancer cells).
