In a method for grinding a treatment device, one end portion of a tapered grinding raw material is inserted between a grinding surface of a grindstone and a pressing surface of a press block, and finishing surfaces opposite each other while having a predetermined dimension, shape, and angle are ground so that a direction in which abrasive grains of the grindstone run corresponds to a direction of a shaft center. At this point, before the finishing surfaces are ground in the predetermined dimension, shape, and angle which are previously set corresponding to an objective reamer, pre-grinding is performed while a necessary finishing margin with respect to at least one of the surfaces, and then finishing grinding is performed to the other surface.

The holding means may be formed of a head of the dental handpiece and a plurality of supports with different lengths may be removably mounted to the head. The support can stand on a head of the dental handpiece and the length from the head is changeable. The support is formed separately from the dental handpiece to be removable, and may have a stopper which abut with a tooth to be cured or an appropriate portion near the tooth.

    摘要: An apparatus for the manufacture of a root canal reamer and a method of manufacture of the same. An apparatus for twisting reamer material has a triangular or rectangular cross-sectional opening, a chuck portion holding root part of taper-like reamer material and vice composed of a plurality of vice-claws capable of pressing side faces of reamer material while rotating. The distance between vice-claws and chuck is variable. The vice-claws adjacent to said vice are arranged alternately and are able to be moved back and forth in accordance with thickness of reamer material. The inside opening of vice varies corresponding to the sectional taper of the reamer material. The present invention also discloses a method of manufacturing a reamer which has an enlarged rake angle and a smaller relief angle than conventional reamers. This is accomplished by an inside opening dimension of the vice being a little larger than the sectional figure of the reamer material. When twisted, the twisting force is exerted adjacent to the angular edge of the face regarded as a relief face when the reamer material is twisted, and an angular portion of the edge of the reamer is squashed.
