    摘要: The invention has a turnback roll which can transfer and guide a polishing tap in a tangential direction of a pressure contacting roll, a vertical oscillation mechanism which linearly oscillates the pressure contacting roll in a tangential direction of a ball groove while being orthogonal to a rotating axis line, and a horizontal oscillation mechanism which linearly oscillates the pressure contacting roll in a direction of a rotating axis line toward both inner side surfaces of the ball groove. The ball groove can be securely polished by the polishing tape on the basis of the continuous or intermittent transfer of the polishing tape and the linear oscillating motion of the ball groove. It is possible to improve a polishing precision, it is possible to improve a surface roughness of the ball groove and it is possible to improve a polishing workability of the ball groove.

    摘要: A method of machining, with a formed tool, a first rotor and a second rotor with mutually complementary meshing threads involves rotating a first workpiece about a longitudinal axis of the workpiece. The tool makes one or more passes along the longitudinal axis of the workpiece as the workpiece rotates so as to remove material, thereby forming the flanks of each helix of the first rotor's thread. The value of at least one of the parameters that collectively define the relative position and relative movement of the workpiece and formed tool is varied during each pass so as to vary the lead of the thread. The above steps are repeated for a second workpiece, thereby forming the second rotor. Adjustments are made to at least one of said parameters during one or more of the passes in order to maintain mutually complementary shapes of the threads of the rotors.

    摘要: A material working process using a plated superabrasive grinding wheel having a superabrasive plating applied to a circumferential surface of a cylindrically shaped core. The plating is applied to at least a lower portion of a circumferential surface of the core continuing around a lower edge of the core and along a circumferential edge of a bottom surface of the core. The superabrasive grinding wheel is utilized by a Swiss style screw machine for abrading a raw bar stock. The grinding wheel is rotated abrading the raw bar stock as the stock is advanced along a longitudinal axis. The bar stock can be rotationally stationary to form a planar surface or rotating to form an arched surface. A machining lubricant is applied to the working interface for lubrication and cooling. The stationary work piece can be indexed to form repeated planar surfaces having various angles therebetween.

    摘要: A helical flute has a constant lead part and a gradually increased lead part. The constant lead part has an axial length ranging from 0.3×LA to 1.2×LA and includes at least entirety of a leading part, so that the cutting performance of a cutting edge at the leading part and shape of chips (curled shape, etc.) are stable. In the constant lead part, because a lead is the smallest and a helix angle is large, a rake angle of the cutting edge is large, so that an excellent cutting quality is obtained and the chips become curled well. Meanwhile, in the gradually increased lead part, because of the lead gradually increased toward a shank, the chips are rapidly discharged toward the shank.

    摘要: An apparatus for grinding a threaded portion of a workpiece, is provided. The threaded portion has a spiral groove formed therein. The apparatus includes a motor, a grinding cord, a detector and a controller. The motor has a rotary portion for rotating the threaded portion of the workpiece about an axis. The grinding cord is configured for being looped around the threaded portion of the workpiece with a middle part thereof engagingly received in a given portion of turns of the spiral groove for grinding the thread portion of the workpiece. The detector is for detecting a rotating cycle of the rotary portion. The controller is communicatively coupled to the detector for controlling the rotary portion to selectively rotate in a first rotating direction or in a reverse second rotating direction based on the received signal from the detector.
