摘要: Techniques capable of effectively reducing local speckle noise caused by scanning with laser light involving a variation in scanning speed and improving the overall quality of an image are provided. In some examples, a laser light source emits laser light with an output level corresponding to a display grayscale of a pixel according to a predetermined waveform pattern within a pixel display period which is set to increase as a scanning speed is reduced. The waveform pattern is set such that a unique relaxation oscillation of the laser light source increases as the scanning speed is reduced. A scanning mirror reflects the laser light emitted from the laser light source in a predetermined scanning order according to its deflection angle so as to be projected onto a projection surface.

摘要: Front-mounted in-vehicle equipment arranged to a front part of a vehicle internal space, rear-mounted in-vehicle equipment arranged to a rear part of the vehicle internal space, and a connection adapted to connect the front-mounted in-vehicle equipment and the rear-mounted in-vehicle equipment is described. Rear-mounted in-vehicle equipment controls the front-mounted in-vehicle equipment via a keyboard or game controller, thereby allowing a passenger to control the front-mounted in-vehicle equipment in a straightforward manner from the rear-mounted in-vehicle equipment instead of the driver operating the front-mounted in-vehicle equipment. The rear-mounted in-vehicle equipment can be denied access to overwriting information related to music data in the front-mounted in-vehicle equipment.

摘要: An optical pickup device includes a liquid crystal element having transparent electrodes, one of which has a plurality of areas divided in a concentric manner. The liquid crystal element can compensate for a spherical aberration that is generated when information is reproduced or recorded on two types of optical recording media. When one of two light beams supporting the two types of optical recording media having a larger value of an effective diameter is a first light beam and the other having a smaller value is a second light beam, parts of areas located inside an effective diameter of the second light beam and areas located outside the same to which the same voltage is applied for compensating for a spherical aberration generated in the first light beam are connected electrically to be the same potential.

摘要: After the initiation of writing, an output signal from an LPF is sampled in correspondence with a portion with a predetermined pulse width of recording data, so as to obtain a pit level. In the resultant signal, its varying portions which correspond to the multi-pulse trains of the write signal are smoothed. A controller modifies a level of a target level signal to be supplied to an APC circuit in such a manner that the pit level becomes an optimum pit level which has been obtained prior to the initiation of writing.

摘要: A detection unit of an optical pickup apparatus includes an optical element to simultaneously extract plural specified lights having a different polarization direction respectively in a separated state from light from an optical recording medium, and a light amount measurement unit to simultaneously perform light amount measurement on each of the plural specified lights extracted by the optical element. At the time of reproduction of information, reflected light from the optical recording medium in the case where reproducing light is irradiated, or emission light emitted from the optical recording medium by irradiation of reproducing light is sent to a detection unit. The optical element extracts the plural specified lights having the different polarization direction respectively in the separated state, the light amount measurement unit simultaneously performs the light amount measurement on each of the plural specified lights extracted by the optical element, and the information recorded on the optical recording medium is reproduced from the ratio of light amounts.

摘要: A mirror actuator includes a piezoelectric element having a thickness in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the mirror, and a circular surface bonded to a circular rear surface of the mirror such that the center of the circular surface of the piezoelectric element and that of the circular rear surface of the mirror match. The piezoelectric element receives a potential to cause the circular surface bonded to the mirror to expand/contract radially around 360 degrees by a uniform ratio to allow the mirror to have a surface modified in geometry. The piezoelectric element is adjusted in thickness so that as the piezoelectric element expands/contracts, the piezoelectric element allows the mirror to have a surface with a ratio of a radius of curvature in a radial direction of the mirror to that of curvature in a tangential direction of the mirror of (cos(2θ)+1)/2, where θ represents an angle of incidence on the surface of the mirror.
