A chip antenna is inserted into a resin case serving as a support member, and one terminal of the resin case is bonded to a power feeding terminal and another terminal of the case is bonded to a fixation terminal of the chip antenna 2 by solder. The chip antenna is fixed to the resin case so that a gap is provided between the printed circuit board on which the chip antenna is mounted and the chip antenna. Then, by bonding the terminals of the resin case to the printed circuit board by solder, the chip antenna is mounted on the printed circuit board.

A chip antenna in which desired antenna characteristics can be obtained without restricting the type of at least one of a dielectric material and a magnetic material used for a base member of the antenna, as well as the type of metal material used for a conductor, or without limiting the sintering conditions of the above-described materials. The chip antenna includes a rectangular-prism-shaped base member having a mounting surface. A conductor, e.g. silver, is spirally wound inside the base member. A feeding terminal is formed over surfaces of the base member so as to feed power to the conductor. One end of the conductor is extended to a surface of the base member to form a feeding section, which is connected to the feeding terminal. The other end of the conductor serves as a free end within the base member. The base member is produced by laminating mixture layers made from a mixture of glass essentially consisting of borosilicate having a softening point of approximately 700.degree. C. and ceramic (relative dielectric constant: 60) essentially consisting of barium oxide, neodymium oxide and titanium oxide having a sintering temperature of approximately 1300.degree. C.

The chip antenna comprises a substrate, at least one conductor, and at least one feeding terminal. The substrate comprises a dielectric material portion and a magnetic material portion, at least a part of the magnetic material portion being exposed to the exterior of the substrate. The conductor is formed at least either on the surface of the substrate or inside the substrate. The feeding terminal is provided on the surface of the substrate to impress a voltage on the conductor.

A downsized chip antenna having a large bandwidth ratio is disclosed. The chip antenna has a rectangular prism-shaped base member providing a mounting surface. A conductor is formed inside the base member in such a manner that it is spirally wound around a winding axis, for example, a winding axis parallel to the mounting surface, i.e., in the longitudinal direction of the base member. One end of the conductor is extended to a surface of the base member to form a feeding section, which is connected to a feeding terminal, disposed over the surfaces of the base member to apply voltage to the conductor. In one embodiment, the other end of the conductor is connected to a midway portion of the conductor within the base member, thereby forming a loop in said conductor.

An electrophotographic developing apparatus includes a photoreceptor drum supported for rotation in one direction, a rotatably supported developing roller disposed in face-to-face relation with the photoreceptor drum for supplying a single-component developing material, a rotatably supported charge transfer roller disposed on one side of the developing roll remote from the photoreceptor drum and in face-to-face relation with the developing roller for delivering the developing material onto the developing roller, a charged layer regulating member disposed around the charge transfer roller and cooperable with the charge transfer roller to regulate a charging and a layer of the developing material, and a developing hopper for accommodating the developing material to be supplied to the charge transfer member. In operation, the developing material within the hopper is carried by the charge transfer roller in the form of a charged toner layer which is subsequently delivered onto the developing roller. The toner layer on the developing layer is then deposited on an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor drum. At least one of a material for, a surface roughness of and a speed of movement of the developing roller differs from that of the charge transfer roller.

A fixing apparatus includes: a fixing roller and a pressure roller which transport a recording paper while sandwiching the recording paper P therebetween so that an unfixed toner image formed on the recording paper is fixed thereon under heat and pressure; two support rollers; an endless belt which is set over the support rollers and comes into contact with a surface of the fixing roller; and heater lamps which are provided respectively inside the support rollers. A fixing apparatus satisfies a relationship indicated by (C2+C3)/C1≧2 where C1 is a heat capacity of each of the heater lamps, C2 is a heat capacity of each of the support rollers, and C3 is a heat capacity of the endless belt in each of areas where the endless belt is in contact with the support rollers. This realizes an external belt heat fixing apparatus which suppresses (a) heat damage to the endless belt and the surface of the fixing member and (b) unevenness of an image.

Support rollers suspending an endless belt are arranged so that a distance between each support roller and a fixing roller is smaller than a height of a belt regulating member provided on each side of the support roller in moving the support rollers to the second position which allows the endless belt to be in contact with the fixing roller so that a contact area therebetween is smaller than in the first position. As a result, in a fixing apparatus which includes the regulating member for regulating a position of an external heating belt in a rotational axis direction so that a contact area size between the external heating belt and the fixing member is variable, it is possible to appropriately vary the contact area between the belt and the fixing material.
