摘要: A laser printer or like electrostatic recording apparatus of the type developing an electrostatic latent image provided on a photoconductive drum by toner which is conveyed by a developing roller. Various devices of the apparatus including the photoconductive drum and developing roller are separated into an upper and a lower unit which are openable away from each other. A photoconductive drum assembly including the photoconductive element and a developing assembly including the developing roller are individually detachable from a body of the apparatus. Various measures are taken to enhance stable and safe operation, miniaturization, easy maintenance, operability, service life, and image quality.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body and a detachable unit to be attached to the apparatus body in an attachment direction and detached from the apparatus body in a detachment direction. The detachable unit includes a rotary body and a unit drive gear. The apparatus body includes an apparatus-body drive gear to engage with the unit drive gear of the detachable unit attached in the apparatus body, at an engageable position on a downstream side of the apparatus-body drive gear in the attachment direction. One or each of the unit drive gear and the apparatus-body drive gear moves to a retracted position at which the one or each of the unit drive gear and the apparatus-body drive gear does not engage with the other of the unit drive gear and the apparatus-body drive gear and does not interfere with attachment and detachment operations of the detachable unit.

摘要: Provided is a powder container having a new structure capable of stable discharge and transport of a powder contained in a container by enabling the powder to be reliably discharged to the outside of the package while preventing the powder from spilling and flying out of the container. The powder container has a container body (138) for transporting powder contained therein from a first end side (138a) to a second end side (138b) thereof by self-rotating; a nozzle receiver (139) having a nozzle receiving hole (insertion section) (139a) arranged inside the second end side of the container body and configured to allow a transport nozzle (162) having a powder receiving inlet (170) to be inserted therein, and a supply port 139b arranged in at least a part of the nozzle receiver (139) and configured to supply the powder in the container body (138) to the powder receiving inlet (170): and a shutter (140) supported by the nozzle receiver 139 and configured to open and close the nozzle receiving hole (insertion section) 139a by sliding in response to insertion of the transport nozzle 162 into the nozzle receiver (139).

摘要: An image forming apparatus, a process cartridge, and a developing unit includes a developer carrying member to carry developer, first and second rotary members arranged in parallel to each other and configured to rotate to agitate and convey the developer, and an enclosure having an inside space to contain the developer, the inside space being divided by a partition with communication openings formed therein at opposite ends thereof into a first chamber configured to maintain the developer above a first level and to hold the first rotary member therein which supplies the developer to the developer carrying member while agitating and conveying the developer, and a second chamber configured to communicate with the first chamber through the communication openings, to maintain the developer at a second level lower than the first level, and to hold the second rotary member therein which circulates the developer with the first chamber through the communication openings.

摘要: The present invention aims to provide a method for manufacturing a prismatic sealed cell having a good reliability of sealing. This object is realized with the following configuration.The method of manufacturing a sealed cell comprises the following steps: fitting a substantially planar rectangular sealing plate to the opening of a prismatic outer casing; and irradiating a high energy beam so that the spot center of the beam is shifted (offset) from the fitted portion to the sealing plate side in order to seal the sealing plate and the outer casing.In this method, the maximum distance from the outer periphery the sealing plate to the spot center at the four corners of the sealing plate is longer than the distance from the outer periphery of the sealing plate to the spot center at a linear portion of the sealing plate.

摘要: A regeneration process in the operating method of the invention includes a first regeneration process, and a second regeneration process after the end of the first regeneration process. In the first regeneration process, a regenerant (5) is distributed at a top (8) of an ion exchange resin bed (2) and simultaneously the regenerant (5) is collected at a bottom (9) of the resin bed (2), thereby generating a downward flow of the regenerant (5) to regenerate the whole of the resin bed (2). In the second regeneration process, the regenerant (5) is distributed at a bottom (10) of the ion exchange resin bed (2) and simultaneously the regenerant (5) is collected at a middle (11) of the resin bed (2), thereby generating an upward flow of the regenerant (5) to regenerate a part of the resin bed (2).
