Abstract:
A system for dispensing pulverulent coating material comprises a source of pulverulent coating material, a source of compressed gas, a device for movably supporting a nozzle, the nozzle coupled to the source of pulverulent material and providing an opening through which the pulverulent material is dispensed, a deflector supported by the device and spaced from the opening to aid in shaping a cloud of dispensed coating material, and a source of high-magnitude electrostatic potential coupled to impart electrostatic potential to the dispensed pulverulent material. The deflector includes at least one first passageway extending with a radial component of the deflector and communicating with the source of compressed gas to direct gas with a radial component into the cloud of dispensed coating material.
Abstract:
A system, in certain embodiments, includes a nozzle. The nozzle includes a liquid passage, a first pneumatic passage, and an exit surface. The exit surface includes at least one recirculation inducing feature configured to reduce deposits adjacent to the first pneumatic passage.
Abstract:
An airflow system is provided for a welding helmet. The airflow system includes an air intake with a filter, a blower, and a battery mounted to the rear of headgear for a welding helmet. A manifold wraps around the side and front of the headgear and directs air from the blower to the front of the headgear. The manifold includes a lower vent for directing air onto a user's face and an upper vent for directing air over a user's head toward the rear of the headgear. The vents are intended to create positive pressure to impede the entry of unfiltered air into the user's breathing zone. The manifold further includes a portion of flexible tubing for adjusting the size of the airflow system in conjunction with adjustment of the headgear diameter. The airflow system generally conforms to the structure and shape of the headgear to maintain a location close to the user's head.
Abstract:
An impact filter suitable for a kitchen exhaust hood is provided with a grease trap to capture grease particles and channel the particles away. The trap can be of different configurations. The filter can be used in various system layouts.
Abstract:
An electrostatic precipitator wash system includes a plurality of fluidic oscillator nozzles through which wash solution is directed at the electrostatic cell of the electrostatic precipitator. The nozzles are provided in a manifold rotatable about an axis of the manifold. The manifold is rotated through an arc of about 90° while emitting wash solution toward the cell in an oscillating stream of drops.
Abstract:
A combustion-powered fastener-driving tool includes a combustion-powered power source, at least one fan for associated with the power source, at least one temperature sensing device in operational proximity to the power source and a control system operationally associated with the power source and connected to the at least one fan and at least one temperature sensing device for adjusting the length of time for energizing the at least one cooling fan as a function of power source temperature sensed by the at least one temperature sensing device.
Abstract:
A dispenser for dispensing pulverulent coating material includes an opening through which the pulverulent material is discharged and a conduit through which the pulverulent material is transported from a source to the opening. The conduit includes a section having a generally rectangular cross section transverse to the general direction of flow of the pulverulent material through the conduit.
Abstract:
In a fastener driving tool having a novel depth of drive control is provided. The fastener driving tool includes a tool body having a cylinder with an axis, the cylinder enclosing a piston, wherein the piston is driven in a driving direction, a depth control probe, and a bumper associated with the depth control probe, wherein the bumper has a trailing surface. The depth control probe is movable relative to the tool body between an extended position and a retracted position, and the depth control probe creates a space having a predetermined length between a surface of a substrate and the trailing surface of the bumper. A surface of the piston hits the trailing surface of the bumper after the fastener has been driven to control the driving depth of a fastener.
Abstract:
Liquid atomization systems and methods including nozzle apparatuses having one or more liquid orifice and one or more fluid orifices associated with each liquid orifice for forming atomized liquid flows. In one application, one or more atomized liquid flows are formed adjacent a moving article and vacillated predominately non-parallel to the direction of the moving article, before depositing the vacillating atomized fluid flows onto the moving article.
Abstract:
A method for producing visco-elastic fluidic material flows by drawing a visco-elastic fluidic material with corresponding separate second fluid flows associated therewith to form a visco-elastic fiber vacillating in a repeating, generally omega-shaped pattern having a bowed portion with first and second side portions that first converge toward each other and then diverge outwardly in generally opposing directions. In one operation, the visco-elastic fiber vacillating in the repeating, generally omega-shaped pattern is an adhesive material deposited onto woven and non-woven fabric substrates and stretched elongated elastic strands in the manufacture of a variety of bodily fluid absorbing hygienic articles.
