摘要: The male connector 1 has a metal shielding shell 4 that accommodates a housing 2 and a synthetic resin enclosure 8 that covers approximately the rear half of this shielding shell 4. Fastening parts 40 and protruding parts 42 are formed by stamping in the upper-side shell half-body 4a. A metal latching arm 44 which is formed with the approximate shape of a shallow inverted V, and which has an engaging part 54, is disposed between these fastening parts 40 and protruding parts 42. The latching arm 44 can be pressed by means of a finger-catch part 68. This configuration obtains the desired shielding performance while maintaining a compact size in a shielded electrical connector assembly.

摘要: A ball grid array connector having an insulative housing with a plurality of contacts in electrical connection with corresponding solder balls that protrude from a surface of the housing. The solder balls form a soldering region for attachment to a circuit board. The housing has a center of gravity biased from a center of the soldering region, and a positional compensation member is attached to the housing and the circuit board. The positional compensation member prevents the housing from becoming inclined with respect to the circuit board when the solder balls are attached to the circuit board and prevents the housing from becoming inclined with respect to an electronic part when the electronic part is mounted to the housing on a side opposite from the circuit board.

摘要: An IC socket is provided which can absorb the difference in linear expansion coefficient between the housing and the circuit board, and thus prevent the occurrence of solder cracking and warping, without lowering the strength of the housing. First slits which have bottoms and which extend from the upper surface of the housing toward the undersurface of the housing are formed between specified rows of pin receiving openings which are formed in the upper surfaces of contact press-fitting accommodating holes that are arranged in the form of a matrix. These holes pass entirely through the housing from the upper surface to the undersurface. Second slits which have bottoms and which extend from the undersurface of the housing toward the upper surface of the housing are formed between specified rows of solder ball receiving cavities formed in the undersurfaces of the contact receiving cavities in positions where the first slits are not formed.

摘要: A tilt switch includes a pair of contact elements; and at least one ball member which rolls along a path defined between the contact elements. The contact elements are disposed facing each other with a distance therebetween, as measured at one end, which is greater than the diameter of the ball member, and as measured at the other end, which is slightly smaller than the diameter of the ball member. Tilting of the tilt switch is electrically detected through detection of whether or not the ball member is held between the contact elements. In another embodiment the tilt switch includes a housing having a hollow portion; at least one rolling member disposed to roll substantially linearly within the hollow portion; a contact mechanism accommodation portion disposed side by side with the hollow portion; a movable contact element and a stationary contact element accommodated within the contact mechanism accommodation portion and disposed facing each other, each of the movable contact element and the stationary contact element being a spring element; and a working member having a pivot formed thereon. The working member has a portion thereof projecting into the hollow portion and is rotated by movement of the rolling member to press the movable contact element into contact with the stationary contact element.

摘要: A valve operating mechanism for an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft and a plurality of intake or exhaust valves normally biased in a valve closing direction includes a rocker shaft, a cam rotatable in synchronism with the crankshaft, a plurality of rocker arms swingably supported on the rocker shaft in association with the valves, respectively, and swingable by the cam, a coupling device for selectively connecting and disconnecting adjacent ones of the rocker arms under hydraulic pressure, and a hydraulic circuit openable and closable according to a rotational speed of the engine for selectively supplying hydraulic pressure to the coupling device. The opening and closing of the hydraulic circuit are controlled in view of a delay in operation thereof based on an angular displacement of the crankshaft or the cam so that the coupling device will be inoperative when the rocker arms are in a predetermined initial interval of a valve opening stroke thereof. The delay in operation of the hydraulic circuit is determined dependent on operating conditions of the internal combustion engine. The predetermined initial interval is defined such that when a piston of the coupling device is urged to slidably move from one of the rocker arms to the other during the initial interval, the piston is struck by the other rocker arm.

摘要: An electrolytic processing device in which either or both surfaces of a belt-shaped metal plate can be selectively subjected to an electrolytic process. In a first electrolytic processing operation wherein only one surface of the belt-shaped metal plate is subjected to processing, an electrical insulating member is disposed between the belt-shaped metal plate and a first group of electrodes arranged over the surface of the belt-shaped metal plate to thereby suppress the flow of current between the belt-shaped metal plate and the first group of electrodes. In a second electrolytic processing operation in which both surfaces of the belt-shaped metal plate are subjected to processing, the electrical insulating member is removed from the position between the electrodes and the belt-shaped metal plate to thereby allow current to flow from the electrodes to both surfaces of the belt-shaped metal plate.

摘要: A circuit for detecting whether, or not, a three-phase load is correctly connected to a three-phase supply employs an inductance, capacitor and resistor connected in the three branches of the load circuit so as to generate a single phase output signal when connected to the supply, to voltage of the signal depending upon the connection to the supply. The circuit requires only three wires and not connected to a ground, or neutral. The output signal controls a reversing switch to ensure that the load is always automatically connected correctly; in a preferred form only one of the voltages is sufficient to light a source of radiant energy to activate a sensor to energize the reversing switch.
