    摘要: A Doppler velocity meter has a radiation source for emitting a radiation beam the wavelength of which fluctuates, such as a laser; an optical system for directing the radiation beam to an object at an incident angle .theta. and a detector for detecting scattered beam generated from the object by directing the radiation beam. The optical system has a diffraction grating which serves to change the incident angle .theta. in accordance with a change in the wavelength .lambda. of the radiation beam in such a manner as to maintain the value of sin .theta./.lambda. substantially constant. The velocity meter can accurately detect the velocity of movement of the object regardless of any change in the wavelength .lambda., because the diffraction grating serves to substantially compensate for any change in the frequency of the scattered beam caused by the change in the wavelength.

A print head has an ejection port for ejecting ink. On an ejection port forming face formed with the ejection port, a projection projecting from the ejection port forming face is formed. The projection is arranged at a position where the distance from a center of the ejection port is within the maximum of a diameter of a vortex core of a vortex that is formed when liquid droplets are ejected in the case without a projection.

    摘要: The invention provides an ink jet print head capable of creating a state where the direction of ink-drop ejection is not likely to be influenced by air currents generated by the ink ejection, and capable of printing an image without causing the shifting of dots. To this end, air currents 11 generated by the ejection of ink and the interference among the air currents 11 are reduced by blowing out gas in a direction parallel with the direction of the ink ejection. Accordingly, even with a print head 1708 that ejects, at high ejection frequency, ink from multiple ejecting openings 4 formed densely, the advancing direction of the ink drops is unlikely to be deflected. As a consequence, a high-quality image of uniform can be outputted.
