    摘要: An electric compressor including a compression mechanism, an electric motor, an inverter, a compressor housing, a sealed terminal, a cluster block, and a metal brace. The sealed terminal is arranged in the compressor housing and electrically connects the inverter and the electric motor. Further, the sealed terminal includes a terminal pin, which is formed from a conductive material, a terminal holder, and an insulative body. The cluster block includes an insertion hole into which the terminal pin is inserted. The metal brace electrically connects the terminal pin to the lead wire. The cluster block includes a protrusion projecting around the insertion hole and surrounding part of the insulative body. The insertion hole has an inside diameter larger than an outside diameter of the terminal pin.

    摘要: A motor-driven compressor has a compression mechanism, a rotary shaft, an electric motor, a motor drive circuit and a housing assembly. The compression mechanism, the electric motor and the motor drive circuit are disposed along the axial direction of the rotary shaft in the housing assembly. The housing assembly has first and second housings. The first housing mounts the electric motor and the compression mechanism. The first housing has first and second mounting lugs formed integrally with the peripheral surface of the first housing. The second housing is joined to the first housing for accommodating the motor drive circuit. The second housing has a third mounting lug formed integrally with the second housing. The first through third mounting lugs are fastened to a mounting object to which the motor-driven compressor is to be mounted by means of fastening members.

    摘要: A coil of an electric motor is cooled by refrigerant. A controller for the electric motor controls a current supplied to the coil within a range less than or equal to a predetermined maximum value. A temperature detection section detects either a temperature of the coil or a temperature about the coil. When a detection temperature that is detected by the temperature detection section prior to activation of the electric motor reaches a predetermined reference temperature, a limiting section executes a limiting control to limit an upper limit value of the current supplied to the coil to a limiting value that is less than the maximum value. Accordingly, the coil of the electric motor is protected without stopping the operation of the electric compressor immediately after activation.
