Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for a user equipment receiving CSI-RS and computing channel support information. Based on the CSI, the UE derives tap locations of channel support, depending on the observed channel and used subcarrier spacing. The deriving can additionally be done in relation to power class and window size. The UE apprises a base station of those tap locations of the channel support and also informs the base station of the strongest tap locations, which can be done in various ways comprising a bit mask. Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for a base station to send CSI-RS to a UE for computing CSI feedback. The CSI-RS resources can be for one or multiple transmit receive points. The base station receives back an indication of tap locations and a bit mask and builds information on tap locations by combining that received indication and bit mask.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing multi-beam downlink channel control procedures. The invention allows for power savings at a user device by indicating what states are to be used and/or indicating deactivation of receiver panels. This is accomplished, at least partially, through the use of a transmission configuration indication table based, at least partially, on measurements made by a user device and panel tags indicating the panels used to make those measurements. Determining optimal downlink and uplink beam selection is accomplished with reference to user device measurements and reporting.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved performance. For example, communication systems may benefit from a multi-functional reference signal that allows for the harmonization of different reference signal patterns. A method, in certain embodiments, may include constructing at a base station a reference signal including a plurality of reference signal patterns. The plurality of reference signal patterns can include at least one of a default reference signal pattern or a multi-functional signal pattern for at least one of uplink or downlink. The plurality of reference signal patterns can include at least one of partially overlapping or non-overlapping resource elements. In addition, the plurality of reference signal patterns are constructed dynamically for a specific user or group of users. The method may also include sending the reference signal from the base station to a user equipment.

The synchronization signal may be aligned with a sub carrier spacing grid of a radio access technology. The synchronization signal may be transmitted to a user equipment so that the center of the synchronization signal is transmitted with a frequency offset with respect to the center of the radio-access technology bandwidth.

Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment, there is disclosed a method comprising: receiving, by a user device, from at least one base station, at least two CSI reporting configurations for at least one of periodic and semi-persistent CSI reporting; determining that at least two CSI reports are to be reported for the at least two CSI reporting configurations in a slot; determining whether PUCCH resources for the at least two CSI reporting configurations are overlapping in time on a carrier; and ranking different CSI reports associated with each of the at least two CSI reporting configurations in a priority order in response to a determination that at least two PUCCH resources associated with the at least two CSI reporting configurations overlap in time at least partially.
