Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a multicast channel configuration that indicates a set of multicast channel time domain resources allocated to a multicast channel for a first multicast broadcast area. The UE may receive an indication of a first set of time domain resources, of the set of multicast channel time domain resources, that have a first reference signal pattern that differs in frequency domain density as compared to a second reference signal pattern used for at least one of a second set of time domain resources of the set of multicast channel time domain resources or a second multicast broadcast area. The UE may decode the first set of time domain resources based at least in part on the first reference signal pattern. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A base station maps code blocks of a transport block of a transport block size (TBS) for a channel using tone-level interleaving or resource element (RE)-level interleaving. Then, the base station can transmit the code blocks of the transport block of the TBS for the channel. A UE may receive the channel from the base station and de-interleave the received tones of the channel in a frequency domain to obtain the code blocks of the transport block having the TBS for the channel.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE). The UE receives a second random access message from the base station after transmitting a first random access message. The second random access message comprises a random access response (RAR) that indicates a narrowband to be used for receiving a fourth random access message. The apparatus determines whether to perform a measurement of the narrowband for the fourth random access message based on an amount of time between receiving the second random access message and transmitting a third random access message. The base station may determine whether the report comprises a measurement of the first narrowband or the second narrowband based on an amount of time between the second random access message and the third random access message or based on an indication in the third random access message.

Abstract: Aspects are provided for repeating a configuration for a transmission after contention resolution in an early contention resolution. An apparatus may be configured to obtain a configuration indicating a number of repetitions for a PUCCH transmission for a PDSCH prior to activation of a dedicated PUCCH resource configuration. The PUCCH transmission may include a HARQ feedback message after receiving a contention resolution message carried in a prior PDSCH in a random access procedure. The apparatus may also be configured to transmit the HARQ feedback message for the PDSCH on a PUCCH according to the number of repetitions. The apparatus may further be configured to transmit a subsequent HARQ feedback message for the PDSCH on the PUCCH according to the number of repetitions for the HARQ feedback message for the PDSCH on the PUCCH. This allows coverage techniques to be applied to certain transmissions in order to improve coverage and reliability.

Abstract: Aspects are provided for enhancing HARQ ACK for Message 4 or Message B. An apparatus may obtain a configuration indicating a number of repetitions for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission in a plurality of slots prior to activation of a dedicated PUCCH resource configuration with a plurality of repetitions based on a radio resource control (RRC) message. The PUCCH transmission includes a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback message in response to receiving a message on a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) in a random access procedure. The PUCCH transmission may then be transmitted on a PUCCH according to the number of repetitions. This allows coverage techniques to be applied to certain transmissions in order to improve coverage and reliability. In an aspect, the coverage enhancement techniques may include repetition of a transmission for coverage extension.
