Abstract: Various designs for optimization of carrier aggregation (CA) capability signaling are discussed. A user equipment (UE) configured for CA determines to signal supported CA combinations that include a band, the band being one of a first band and a second band. The first band is a superset of the second band. The UE signals the supported CA combinations that include the band to the network. A base station receives a signal indicating the CA combinations supported by the UE that include the band. The base station determines CA combinations that include the first band and CA combinations that include the second band based on the CA combinations received from the UE.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a receive time difference (RTD) between a first base station and a second base station based at least in part on the UE using a common beam to receive transmissions from the first base station and the second base station. The UE may transmit information indicating the RTD between the first base station and the second base station, wherein the transmissions from the first base station and the second base station may be scheduled based at least in part on the RTD between the first base station and the second base station. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of carriers within a frequency band for communicating with a base station via either carrier aggregation or dual connectivity. The UE may determine that a first parameter for communications over a first carrier exceeds a threshold with respect to corresponding parameters of other carriers, the first parameter being either a downlink reception parameter or an uplink transmission parameter. The UE may refrain from communicating over the first carrier based at least in part on the first parameter exceeding the threshold.

Abstract: Aspects are provided in which narrow channels are configured and carrier aggregated with defined channel bandwidths in order to support irregular channel bandwidths that are not a multiple of 5 MHz or other defined bandwidth multiple. An apparatus such as a UE receives, from a base station, a configuration for carrier aggregation for a PCell and one or more SCells. A total bandwidth of the PCell and the one or more SCells is not a defined bandwidth multiple. The apparatus communicates with the base station through the PCell and the one or more SCells. In this way, the available spectrum of wireless operators that include channel bandwidths of irregular size may be supported.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure a secondary component carrier (CC) for a user equipment (UE) which is not aligned on a valid channel raster entry. The location of the secondary CC may be indicated based on a reference location relative to another frequency or another CC. The reference location of the secondary CC may be the center of the new CC, an edge of the secondary CC, the position of a subcarrier within the secondary CC, or the position of a resource. In some examples, the reference location of the secondary CC may be indicated relative a currently used CC, an arbitrary channel entry, or an absolute frequency location. In some examples, the relative location may be provided in resource blocks or subcarriers and the subcarrier spacing (SCS). The base station may indicate the width of the secondary CC to the UE.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of carriers configured for communications between the UE and one or more transmission reception points (e.g., a set of transmission points). The UE may receive multiple communications over different carriers and determine a time difference or delay between two of the carriers (e.g., a first carrier and a second carrier). Based on the time difference and a time difference threshold, the UE may perform a throughput degradation procedure such as transmitting a report indicating the time difference, transmitting a feedback report with channel quality information determined based on the time difference, etc.
