    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for paging based on a paging early indication (PEI). Particular aspects provide for a method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining a set of paging cycles for receiving paging information from a base station (BS), receiving a first paging early indicator (PEI) from the BS in a first paging cycle of the set of paging cycles, wherein the first PEI indicates whether the paging information will be transmitted to the UE in one or more second paging cycles of the set of paging cycles occurring after the first paging cycle, and receiving the paging information in the one or more second paging cycles based on the first PEI received in the first paging cycle.

    Abstract: Satellites in a non-terrestrial network may provide positioning reference signals (PRS) to user equipment (UE), with which the UE may determine its position using propagation delay difference measurements, such as Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) measurement. Due to the large distances between satellites and the UE, the propagation delay differences in the PRS received from satellites may exceed half a radio frame, resulting in a frame level timing ambiguity in the differential measurements. The satellites transmit secondary PRS, along with primary PRS, that include timing information to resolve frame level timing ambiguity of the primary PRS. The positioning occasions in the secondary PRS, for example, may be aligned with corresponding positioning occasions primary PRS within each radio frame, and are transmitted with a periodicity that is an integer multiple (greater than 1) of that of the primary PRS to resolve the frame level timing ambiguity of the primary PRS.

    Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure disclose methods and systems related to the use of a periodic reference signal to activate a secondary cell. For example, a user equipment may receive, from a base station on a primary cell, an activation command configured to activate a secondary cell. The user equipment may also receive, from the base station and on the primary cell, a signal indicating an availability of a periodic reference signal on the secondary cell, the periodic RS being for use in activating the secondary cell. The user equipment may then, in response to receiving the signal, perform a tracking function to activate the secondary cell.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a paging early indication (PEI) indicating whether at least one UE in a UE group or a UE sub-group including the UE is to be paged in a paging occasion. In some aspects, a sequence on which the PEI is based is a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)-based sequence. In some aspects, the PEI is a sequence-based PEI and is received based at least in part on a sequence configuration configured on the UE. In some aspects, the PEI is a sequence-based PEI and is received based at least in part on a distributed resource block allocation associated with the sequence. The UE may selectively process a paging PDCCH associated with the paging occasion based at least in part on the PEI. Numerous other aspects are described.
