    Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively providing audio alerts via a speaker device are disclosed herein. A system plays first audio content through a speaker. A microphone captures second audio content comprising an alert Output of the second audio content through the speaker is suppressed by using noise cancellation The system identifies the alert within the second audio content and determines a priority level of the alert. The system determines, based on the priority level, that the alert should be reproduced, and audibly reproduces the alert via the speaker, with the first audio content or instead of the first audio content.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a content item based on a difference between a user confidence score and a confidence score are disclosed. For example, a system generates for output a first content item. While the first content item is being outputted, the system receives user data via sensors of a device. The system determines a user confidence score based on the user data and metadata of the first content item. The user confidence score indicates a user's perceived probability of an event occurring in the future. The system calculates a prediction score which estimates the likelihood of the event occurring in the future. In response to determining that the difference between the user confidence score and the prediction score exceeds a threshold, the system selects a second content item related to the event and generates for output a recommendation comprising an identifier of the second content item.

    Abstract: To filter unwanted sounds from a conference call, a voice profile of a first user is generated based on a first voice signal captured by a media device during a first conference call. The voice profile may be generated by identifying a base frequency of the first voice signal and determining a plurality of voice characteristics, such as pitch, intonation, accent, loudness, and speech rate. These data may be stored in association with the first user. During a second conference call, a second voice signal captured by the media device is analyzed to determine, based on the voice profile of the first user, whether the second voice signal includes the voice of a second user. If so, the second voice signal is prevented from being transmitted into the conference call. A voice profile of the second user may be generated from the second voice signal for future use.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for generating alternate audio for a media stream. The media system receives media that is requested by the user. The media comprises a video and audio. The audio includes words spoken in a first language. The media system stores the received media in a buffer as it is received. The media system separates the audio from the buffered media and determines an emotional state expressed by spoken words of the first language. The media system translates the words spoken in the first language into words spoken in a second language. Using the translated words of the second language, the media system synthesizes speech having the emotional state previously determined. The media system then retrieves the video of the received media from the buffer and synchronizes the synthesized speech with the video to generate the media content in a second language.
