Abstract: A display device with less light leakage and excellent contrast is provided. A display device having a high aperture ratio and including a large-capacitance capacitor is provided. A display device in which wiring delay due to parasitic capacitance is reduced is provided. A display device includes a transistor over a substrate, a pixel electrode connected to the transistor, a signal line electrically connected to the transistor, a scan line electrically connected to the transistor and intersecting with the signal line, and a common electrode overlapping with the pixel electrode and the signal line with an insulating film provided therebetween. The common electrode includes stripe regions extending in a direction intersecting with the signal line.

Abstract: A highly reliable display device is provided. In a flexible display device including at least a first display region and a second display region, at least a portion of a wiring provided in the first display region or the second display region has a meandering shape or a chain-like shape. Since the wiring has a meandering shape or a chain-like shape, a short-circuit, a disconnection, or the like of the wiring due to curving or bending of the display device does not occur easily. The wiring having a meandering shape or a chain-like shape can prevent defective operation, lowered reliability, or the like of the display device.

Abstract: A high-definition liquid crystal display device is provided. A liquid crystal display device with a high aperture ratio is provided. A liquid crystal display device with a high contrast ratio and display quality is provided. A liquid crystal display device capable of being driven at a low voltage is provided. The display device includes, between a pair of substrates, a pixel electrode, a first common electrode, a second common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The pixel electrode and the first common electrode are positioned between the liquid crystal layer and one of the substrates. The second common electrode is positioned between the liquid crystal layer and the other substrate. The same potential is supplied to the first common electrode and the second common electrode. The first common electrode includes a portion overlapping with the second common electrode between the display regions of two adjacent subpixels that exhibit different colors. At least one of the pixel electrode and the first common electrode includes a portion that does not overlap with the second common electrode in the display region of the subpixel.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a display device is provided. The method includes a step of forming a first layer over a first substrate, a terminal electrode over the first layer, a display element over the first layer, and a peeling layer overlapping with the terminal electrode, a step of forming a second layer over a second substrate, a step of attaching the first substrate to the second substrate with a bonding layer therebetween, a step of separating the first substrate from the first layer, a step of attaching a third substrate to the first layer, a step of separating the second substrate from the second layer together with part of the bonding layer, and a step of attaching a fourth substrate to the second layer. At least one of the first layer and the second layer includes an organic film.

The display device includes a first display element, a second display element, and a control portion. The first display device reflects visible light. The second display element emits visible light. The control portion is configured to drive the first display element and the second display element at the same time such that a maximum value of luminance of light emitted from the second display element is greater than or equal to 1% and less than or equal to 50% of maximum luminance on the assumption that maximum luminance of light which is emitted from the second display element is 100%.

Abstract: The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a transistor including an oxide semiconductor film including a channel formation region; a pixel electrode electrically connected to the transistor; an insulating layer in contact with the pixel electrode; and a first common electrode in contact with the insulating layer. The second substrate faces the first substrate and includes a second common electrode. A negative liquid crystal material is used for the liquid crystal layer. The specific resistivity of the liquid crystal material is greater than or equal to 1.0×1013 Ω·cm and less than or equal to 1.0×1016 Ω·cm.

Abstract: To provide a highly reliable liquid crystal display device including flexible substrates and a crystalline oxide semiconductor film for a backplane. The device includes a flexible first substrate, a flexible second substrate facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer sealed between the substrates with a sealing member. The first substrate is provided with a layer including a transistor, an organic resin film over the transistor, a pixel electrode and a common electrode over the organic resin film, which partly overlap with each other with an insulating film provided therebetween, and an alignment film thereover. The transistor includes a crystalline oxide semiconductor film as a semiconductor layer where a channel is formed. Drying treatment is performed on the layer before the liquid crystal layer is sealed between the substrates, and steps from the drying treatment to sealing of the liquid crystal layer are performed without exposure to the air.

A planar shape of the first structure is different from a planar shape of the second structure.
