Abstract: A structured light projector includes a light source configured to emit light, a structured light pattern mask configured to receive the light emitted by the light source and including a first region configured to generate a first structured light having a first polarization and a second region configured to generate a second structured light having a second polarization that is different from the first polarization, and a polarization multiplexing deflector configured to deflect the first structured light and the second structured light generated by the structured light pattern mask, to different directions, respectively.

Abstract: Provided are meta illuminators. The meta illuminators according to embodiments include a first light emitter configured to emit pattern light, and a second light emitter configured to emit non-patterned light, wherein the first and second light emitters forms a single body. The first and second light emitters respectively include meta-surfaces that are different from each other, and the different meta-surfaces may be formed on a single material layer. The first light emitter includes a pattern region that transmits a portion of incident light, and the second light emitter does not include the pattern region. A mask may be arranged between the light source and the transparent substrate.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for acquiring depth information are disclosed. To acquire depth information, illumination light of which an amount of light has been modulated by a modulation signal is emitted towards a subject, and an image is captured using an image sensor. An image signal is sequentially acquired from a plurality of rows while shifting a phase of the illumination light at a start exposure time of a row belonging to an intermediate region of a pixel array region of the image sensor. Depth information is calculated from image signals acquired during a plurality of frames while shifting a phase of the modulation signal.

Abstract: A depth image generating apparatus includes a light source configured to emit light; an optical shutter provided on a path of the light reflected by an object and configured to modulate a waveform of the reflected light by changing a transmissivity of the optical shutter with respect to the reflected light; a driver configured to apply a driving voltage to the light source and a driving voltage to the optical shutter; a temperature measurer configured to measure a temperature of the optical shutter; a controller configured to control driving voltages; and a depth information obtainer configured to generate an image corresponding to the reflected light that passes through the optical shutter, extract a phase difference between a phase of the light emitted by the light source to the object and a phase of the reflected light, and obtain depth information regarding the object based on the phase difference.
