Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication scheme and system for converging a 5th generation (5G) communication system for supporting a data rate higher than that of a 4th generation (4G) system with an Internet of things (IoT) technology. The present disclosure is applicable to intelligent services (e.g., smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars, connected cars, health care, digital education, retails, and security and safety-related services) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology. The present disclosure provides a method performed by a session management function (SMF) entity in a communication system, which includes identifying whether a terminal is moved out of a service area corresponding to a protocol data unit (PDU) session; and in case that the terminal is moved out of the service area corresponding to the PDU session, transmitting, to a user plane function (UPF) entity a first request message to remove information on a connection between a base station and the UPF entity, the connection being associated with the PDU session.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for steering a protocol data unit (PDU) session associated with traffic routed to a selected user plane function (UPF). The method includes receiving, from an application function (AF), a first message including information identifying a UPF toward which traffic routing is applied and information on a spatial condition of a terminal location; receiving, from a session management function (SMF) device, a second message including information on a change of the terminal location in an area of interest determined based on the spatial condition; selecting a UPF based on the information identifying the UPF and the information on the change of the terminal location; and transmitting, to the SMF device, a third message including information on the selected UPF for steering a PDU session associated with traffic routed to the selected UPF.

Abstract: A method that connects a User Equipment (UE) to an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network through a web browser for a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) service is provided. The method, and a UE adapted to the method, downloads a web app for a WebRTC service and connects to an IMS network through a WebRTC client. The UE connects to the IMS network and is registered in the IMS network in such a way as to use a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of an enhanced Proxy-Call Session Control Function (eP-CSCF) obtained by establishing a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection of the UE through a web browser in the process of obtaining a URL of the eP-CSCF, or the obtained URL of an eP-CSCF to which the WebRTC client can connect by transmitting Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) information of a network to which the UE is connected to a WebRTC Web Server Function (WWSF). Therefore, the UE can easily use WebRTC services.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting data to user equipment through not only a current base station cell but also a neighboring base station cell via inter-eNB CA in a wireless communication system. A method for transmitting data though carrier aggregation in the wireless communication system, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: a first base station transreceiving data with a terminal through at least two PDN connections; the first base station transmitting a carrier aggregation request message to a second base station for aggregating carriers, when the first base station determines to carry out inter-eNB carrier aggregation; the first base station receiving a carrier aggregation reply message from the second base station in response to the carrier aggregation request message; the first base station performing an RRC reconfiguration process with the terminal to notify to the terminal of the determination to perform the inter-eNB carrier aggregation; and the first base station transmitting a path change request message to a mobile management entity to correct a data transreceiving path, so that data on at least one PDN connection from among the PDN connections is transreceived through the second base station.
