    摘要: Provided are an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a pilot code pattern used to identify a base station. In the base station, a pilot code pattern determiner determines a code set that includes a number of spreading codes based on a specific ID of the base station. A first spreader spreads a pilot symbol mapped onto an FC with a corresponding spreading code according to the determined code set, and controls gain so as to transmit the pilot symbol at a higher signal level than data. A second spreader spreads data symbols mapped onto the FC with spreading codes of the code set except for the spreading code used for the pilot spreading. A mapper groups a spread signal from the first spreader and spread signals from the second spreader on a TFC basis, and outputs signals that constitute each TFC to points of sub-carriers. An IFFT unit performs an IFFT operation on signals output from the mapper. Because the pilot as well as the data is spread, it is easy to implement the base station. Also, it is possible to identify base stations according to the pilot spreading codes as well as a pilot hopping pattern.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for switching between an AMC mode and a diversity mode adaptively according to a channel environment in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. According to the present invention, a transmitter (a base station) determines a transmission mode according to frequency-domain and time-domain channel measurement information received from a receiver (a mobile station). If the transmission mode is the AMC mode, the transmitter selects a coding and modulation scheme according to a frequency-domain CQI received from the receiver. If the transmission mode is a diversity mode, the transmitter selects a predetermined coding and modulation scheme.

    摘要: A method of orthogonalizing signals transmitted from a BS in an OFDMA system, at a transmitting end, includes a) performing encoding, interleaving and modulation on original information bits; b) allocating sub-carriers with equivalent intervals to a sub-channel, and dividing channels into two parts of a cell edge user channel and a center area channel; c) mapping modulated information symbols to the corresponding sub-carriers; d) performing orthogonalizing processing on the two parts of channels; e) for a user at an edge of the cell, according to result of step b), dividing an OFDM symbol into subsections of equal length; f) multiplying the subsections obtained from step e) by a corresponding orthogonalizing sequence of the cell; g) adding the OFDM symbols of the two parts together to form a whole OFDM symbol; h) adding a cyclic prefix for the system; and i) performing D/A conversion, RF processing and feedback over a transmitting antenna on a base-band signal.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for controlling call admission in an OFDM mobile communication system are provided. Upon receipt of a call admission request, it is determined whether a requested call is a handoff call or a new call and the traffic service type and QoS level of the requested call are determined. The amount of resources required for the call is calculated using the QoS level and the amount of resources of on-going calls is calculated according to the traffic service type. The amount of available resources in a cell is calculated using the amount of resources of the on-going calls and it is determined whether to admit the call by comparing the available resource amount with the required resource amount.

    摘要: A frame configuration method and apparatus for sending data via an RS in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In the reception mode, the RS monitors reception of data in an (n−1)th frame from an MS and reception of data in an nth frame from a BS. The RS classifies the data received from the MS and the data received from the BS as combinable data to be sent in combination or as non-combinable data to be sent separately, and stores the classified data distinguishably. When the RS transitions to a transmission mode, it determines whether to XOR-operate or mask the stored data. If the stored data can be masked, the RS XOR-operates the stored data and sends the masked data to the BS and the MS.
