Abstract:
A golf ball including an inner core having a geometric center and a first outer surface, the inner core being formed from a first substantially homogenous rubber composition, and an outer core layer formed from a second substantially homogenous rubber composition, the outer core layer having a second outer surface. An inner cover layer is formed over the core and includes an ionomeric material. An outer cover layer is formed over the inner cover layer and includes a castable polyurea or a castable polyurethane. The first outer surface has a hardness of up to about 20 Shore C less than a hardness at the geometric center to define a negative hardness gradient inner core and the second outer surface has a hardness of up to 18 Shore C greater than the geometric center hardness to define a positive gradient outer core layer and a shallow positive hardness gradient core.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for detecting on-screen media sources are disclosed. An example method includes monitoring a region of interest of a video signal for a first image, comparing the first image to a stored image, and confirming the media device change when the stored image differs from the first image and is associated with a secondary criterion.
Abstract:
A method is described for managing vapors generated from an ammonia-containing reductant delivery system. The method may include generating ammonia vapors in a first storage device and storing said generated ammonia vapors in a second storage device. Further, the method may include purging the stored vapors from the second storage device to upstream of a combustion chamber of the engine during a first condition and downstream of the combustion chamber during a second condition.
Abstract:
A branched aromatic ionomer is prepared with a first monomer having an unsaturated moiety and a second monomer having an unsaturated moiety and an ionic moiety, wherein the ionic moiety comprises a polyvalent metal with a coordination number greater than its oxidation number. An example of the first monomer is styrene, and the product ionomer can be a variety of general purpose polystyrene. Examples of the second monomer are zirconium methacrylate and titanium methacrylate, which may be co-polymerized with at least 0.5 molar equivalents of methacrylic acid as an in-situ formed ionomeric crosslinker.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a golf ball. The golf ball is formed with a core, at least one intermediate layer, and a cover. The intermediate layer has a non-planar parting line. The molds used to form the intermediate layer have non-planar mating surfaces. The non-planar mating surfaces of the molds mesh, and when the intermediate layer is formed therein, the intermediate layer has a non-planar parting line thereon. If compression molding is used, hemispherical layer blanks may be pre-formed in the shape of the mold halves. To form the intermediate layer, the two blanks are compression molded together. If injection molding is used, a core is placed inside a mold chamber and layer material is injected into the mold chamber to form the intermediate layer about the core. If reaction injection molding is used, two or more reactive precursors are mixed and injected into the mold cavity, and they react to form the intermediate layer. Optional outer layers and a cover are molded on the intermediate layer to form a finished ball.
Abstract:
Golf balls consisting of a dual core and a dual cover are disclosed. The Shore C hardness of the outer core layer's outer surface is greater than that of the inner cover layer's outer surface, and the Shore C hardness of the outer core layer's outer surface is at least 20 Shore C units greater than that of the center.

Abstract:
RFID system components, such as readers and tags, communicate by a reader transmitting waveforms that encode a calibration symbol and a divide ratio. Tags include a processor to determine a backscatter link period result by dividing a count value representing the calibration symbol by the divide ratio and adding an adjustment. Tags modulate a backscatter waveform that includes symbols using a link period determined from the result.
Abstract:
Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags selected for inventorying using combination of preselect and/or post select criteria. The selection commands can be for selecting according to a tag memory content, by invoking the mask address or by comparing other tag characteristics. Selection criteria can be determined locally at a modem block of a reader or provided to the modem block by higher layers of the reader. Tags meeting the selection criteria are reported to the higher layers for further actions. Some tags may be held while waiting for instructions from the higher layer block(s).
