摘要: An overhead camshaft type valve train includes drive rocker arms interlockingly connected to intake valves (exhaust valves) rockingly supported on a rocker shaft fixed to camholders for rotatably supporting a camshaft, free rocker arms adapted to get free relative to the intake valves (exhaust valves), connection switching mechanisms for switching over the connection and release of connection between the drive rocker arms and the free rocker arms, and lost motion mechanisms for biasing the free rocker arms to a cam side. The respective cam holders are fastened to the cylinder head by pairs of fastening portions with bolts, and holding portions for holding the lost motion mechanisms are formed integrally with the fastening portions.

摘要: The invention relates to an existing pipe cut-off method and slitting method, by which an existing pipe made of cast iron and steel can be cut off. With a cut-off method according to the invention, first, a part of an existing pipe 1 is enclosed and sealed up by a seal-up housing 2 in an airtight state, a cutting tool 30 having a plurality of blades 30c is accommodated in the corresponding seal-up housing in a state the cutting tool is attached to the abovementioned seal-up housing 2. Next, the cutting tool 30 is fed toward the center of the abovementioned existing pipe 1 while slitting the existing pipe 1 by rotating the cutting tool 30 by power of a prime mover, and the abovementioned existing pipe 1 is cut off by the cutting tool 30 by turning the abovementioned seal-up housing 2 in the circumferential direction R of the existing pipe 1.

摘要: This invention relates to a magnetic recording medium having a structure in which an undercoating film, a magnetic thin film, a protective film, and an organic film are stacked on a substrate in the order named. Since the protective film contains carbon and silicon and a portion of silicon in at least an interface in contact with the organic film consists of a silicon oxide, the surface of the magnetic recording medium is not degraded even by frequent contact with a magnetic head upon driving or stopping of the magnetic recording medium. This invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the same.

摘要: A two-dimensional image detector of the present invention includes: an active matrix substrate equipped with charge storage capacitors and TFTs; and an opposing substrate equipped with a semiconductor substrate. The two-dimensional image detector is formed by adhering the active matrix substrate and the opposing substrate to each other with an anisotropic conductive adhesive agent. With this structure, since a semiconductor layer is not required to be deposited on the active matrix substrate where the TFTs are already formed, it is possible to use CdTe, CdZnTe, etc. The use of CdTe, CdZnTe, etc. as a material of the semiconductor layer having photoconductivity allows the two-dimensional image detector to show good response and to deal with the dynamic images.

摘要: A valve operating system in an internal combustion engine includes a cam shaft provided with a plurality of valve operating cams, a plurality of rocker arms positioned adjacent one another, an associative operation switch capable of being switched between a state in which it permits the rocker arms adjacent each other to be operated associatively with each other, and a state in which it releases the associative operation. An urging means for urging the free rocker arm of the plurality of rocker arms toward the valve operating cam corresponding to the free rocker arm, which becomes free relative to an engine valve, when the associative operation switch is brought into the associative operation releasing state. The free rocker arm is provided with first and second support walls spaced apart and opposed to each other, and a roller is provided in rolling contact with a valve operating cam corresponding to the free rocker arm, and is rollably supported on a support shaft mounted to extend between the support walls through a bearing. In such valve operating system, one of the support walls included in the free rocker arm is integrally provided with a receiving portion which contacts with the urging means. Therefore, the structure of the free rocker arm can be simplified in such a manner that the receiving portion is positioned to the side of the roller. In addition, an increase in size of the free rocker arm can be avoided, and the inertial weight is reduced. Thus, it is possible to conveniently accommodate the high-speed rotation of the internal combustion engine.

摘要: A control-signal input device for computer game machines for generating game control signals based on the analysis results of biological signals, such as brain waves, in which a biological signal extracted by a biological-signal extracting means is analyzed. Signal components of each of a plurality of frequency components in the biological signal are obtained based on the above analysis results. The state of the biological signal is obtained by subjecting the signal components of each of the frequency components to a predetermined processing. A predetermined game control signal is generated in accordance with the state of the biological signal, and transmitted to a game machine via a changeover device.

摘要: A graphite substrate is accommodated into a chamber where vacuum drawing is performed via a pump. Thereafter, carbon is heated under vacuum, whereby impurities in the carbon are evaporated causing the carbon to be purified. The carbon in the graphite substrate is purified, achieving suppression of the impurities as donor/acceptor elements and also metallic elements in the semiconductor layer of 0.1 ppm or less, the impurities being contained in the carbon in the graphite substrate. As a result, occurrence of leak current or an abnormal leak point enables to be suppressed, and thus abnormal crystal growth in the semiconductor layer enables to be suppressed.
