    摘要: A coal liquefaction process employing a first stage liquefaction step catalyzed by a soluble molybdenum-containing organophosphorodithioate catalyst is disclosed. In some embodiments, two consecutive liquefaction steps employ a molybdenum-containing organophosphorodithioate catalyst operating at a relatively high liquefaction temperature. In other embodiments, a second liquefaction process step operating at a relatively low temperature employs a hydrocracking catalyst to upgrade materials obtained from the first soluble catalyst liquefaction step. In some embodiments, an interstage gas separator removes gases such as carbon dioxide produced in the first liquefaction step from a partially liquefied mixture prior to further liquefying the mixture in the second liquefaction step.

    摘要: A process and catalyust are provided for hydrogenation of a hydrocarbon feedstock consisting essentially of material boiling between about 150.degree. F. and about 700.degree. F. which comprises reacting the feedstock with hydrogen at hydrogenation conditions in the presence of a catalyst comprising from about 0.1% to about 2.0% by weight each of palladium and platinum and a support comprising mordenite. The process of the present invention provides substantially improved dearomatization performance, increased desulfurization and denitrogenation, increased distillate product cetane number, increased distllate volume expansion, and utilizes a more durable catalyst.

    摘要: Silica supported high activity olefin polymerization catalysts, methods of producing the catalysts and methods of using the catalysts in the polymerization of olefins are provided. The methods of producing the catalysts each basically comprise contacting a particulate silica support impregnated with tungsten oxide with the soluble complex produced by heating a mixture of a metal dihalide with a transition metal compound to produce a solid, and then reacting the solid with an organoaluminum halide. The catalysts produced have improved productivities and are less soluble in polymerization media.

    摘要: A composition of matter is prepared by a process comprising the steps of impregnating a alumina-containing support material with a thiosulfate (preferably ammonium thiosulfate), drying the thus impregnated material, impregnating the dried material with a transition metal compound, drying and calcining the transition metal impregnated material. This composition of matter is used as catalyst composition for hydrogenating unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds, and as catalyst composition for hydrotreating hydrocarbon-containing feed streams (in particular heavy oils) which contain metal and sulfur compounds as impurities.In another embodiment, a hydrotreating process comprises contacting hydrocarbon-containing feed stream (in particular heavy oils), which contains compounds of sulfur and metals, in the presence of a fixed catalyst bed comprising (X) at least one layer of impregnated substantially spherical alumina-containing particles, which have been prepared by a process comprising the steps of impregnating a specific starting material with (NH.sub.4).sub.2 S.sub.2 O.sub.3 and then heating the thus impregnated material at about 500.degree.-900.degree. C. for improved crush strength retention. In a preferred embodiment, the fixed catalyst bed further comprises at least one layer (Y) of catalyst particles comprising a refractory inorganic carrier and at least one hydrogenation promoter. A composition of matter comprising the impregnated, spherical alumina-containing particles described above, and a process for preparing them are also provided.
