摘要: Disclosed is a hydrocracking process wherein the feedstock is contacted in a first reaction zone with a first reaction zone catalyst comprising a nickel component and a molybdenum component deposed on a support consisting essentially of a refractory inorganic oxide. The effluent from the first reaction zone is then contacted in a second reaction zone with a second reaction zone catalyst comprising a nickel component and a tungsten component deposed on a support component consisting essentially of an alumina component and a crystalline molecular sieve component. The effluent from the second reaction zone effluent is then contacted in a third reaction zone with a third reaction zone catalyst comprising a cobalt component and a molybdenum component deposed on a support component comprising a silica-alumina component and a crystalline molecular sieve component.

摘要: Disclosed is a hydrocracking process wherein the feedstock is first contacted with a first catalyst containing a nickel component and a tungsten component supported on a support containing alumina and a crystalline molecular sieve followed by subsequent contact with a second hydrocracking catalyst containing a cobalt component and a molybdenum component supported on a support containing silica-alumina and a crystalline molecular sieve and the first catalyst. This subsequent contact with the second and first catalysts is carried out either serially or in one step wherein the first and second catalysts are physically mixed.

摘要: A heavy crude oil is fractionated into at least three liquid fractions which include a distillate fraction boiling in the 400.degree. F.-650.degree. F. range and a 650.degree. F.+ boiling range residuum. The distillate cut is hydrodesulfurized and the residuum is hydrodemetallized. The cuts thus hydrotreated, and at least a part of the third liquid fraction, are then combined to form an upgraded synthetic crude oil of relatively low sulfur content and relatively low vanadium and nickel content.

摘要: A composition of matter is prepared by a process comprising the steps of impregnating a alumina-containing support material with a thiosulfate (preferably ammonium thiosulfate), drying the thus impregnated material, impregnating the dried material with a transition metal compound, drying and calcining the transition metal impregnated material. This composition of matter is used as catalyst composition for hydrogenating unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds, and as catalyst composition for hydrotreating hydrocarbon-containing feed streams (in particular heavy oils) which contain metal and sulfur compounds as impurities. In another embodiment, a hydrotreating process comprises contacting hydrocarbon-containing feed stream (in particular heavy oils), which contains compounds of sulfur and metals, in the presence of a fixed catalyst bed comprising (X) at least one layer of impregnated substantially spherical alumina-containing particles, which have been prepared by a process comprising the steps of impregnating a specific starting material with (NH.sub.4).sub.2 S.sub.2 O.sub.3 and then heating the thus impregnated material at about 500.degree.-900.degree. C. for improved crush strength retention. In a preferred embodiment, the fixed catalyst bed further comprises at least one layer (Y) of catalyst particles comprising a refractory inorganic carrier and at least one hydrogenation promoter. A composition of matter comprising the impregnated, spherical alumina-containing particles described above, and a process for preparing them are also provided.
