摘要: A signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) estimator for estimating a SIR of baseband signals which are received and processed by a data demodulator to provide demodulated signals to the SIR estimator. The SIR estimator receives the demodulated symbols from the data demodulator and estimates the average signal power of the demodulated symbols as a function of a median based average power value md and a mean based average power value me of the demodulated symbols for each quadrant of a quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) constellation. The function is used to determine a minimum value m between md and me. The SIR estimator estimates the average effective interference power of the demodulated symbols and calculates the SIR by dividing the estimated average signal power of the demodulated symbols by the estimated average effective interference power of the demodulated symbols. The SIR estimator reduces bias effects on SIR estimation.

摘要: The present invention is a system and method which controls outer loop transmit power for transmission power of an uplink/downlink communication in a wireless communication system. The system receives a communication from a base station and determines an error rate on the received communication. The system then distinguishes between static and dynamic channels, produces a static adjustment value, and characterizes the dynamic channels to generate a dynamic adjustment value. The target power level is then adjusted by the static and dynamic adjustment values, setting the transmission power level.

摘要: A method of the employing weighted open loop power control in a user equipment (UE) is initiated by the UE receiving a communication and measuring its received power level. Based on, in part, the received communication's power level and the communication's transmission power level, a path loss estimate is determined. A quality of the path loss estimate is also determined. The transmission power level for a communication from the UE is based, in part, on weighting the path loss estimate in response to the quality of the estimate.

摘要: Splitting data in a wireless communications network. Data may be split to use multiple base stations for transmission to user equipment in order to improve the bandwith if a UE is on a cell edge, or may be split by user equipment for transmission to multiple base stations in order to improve handover. Data splitting may be performed at the Packet Data Convergence Protocol layer, at the Radio Link Control layer, or at the Media Access Control layer on user equipment or on a base station. Data may instead be split in a network node, such as in a serving gateway, in order to reduce X2 interface load or delay carrier aggregation.

摘要: Methods and systems are disclosed facilitate differentiated QoS service for packets within a single packet stream. For example, extended QCI values may be used to differentiate service of video packets associated with different priorities. A flexible representation of QoS requirements/parameters is disclosed where QoS may be defined as a hyperspace that is a function of base QoS parameters. A WTRU may explicitly specify and/or request desired QoS parameters. A WTRU may be configured to perform one or more of video packet separation into a plurality of video packet sub-streams, merging of the video packet sub-streams, and/or reordering of the packets included in the video packet sub-streams. Techniques may be utilized to exposing more information to a data transmission network regarding the type of video packets (and/or other packets) being transmitted.

摘要: A user equipment comprises a transmitter and an adaptive modulation and coding controller. The transmitter is configured to transmit data over an air interface in a single transmission time interval with a first specified modulation and coding scheme, where the single transmission time interval has a plurality of transport block sets. In response to receiving a repeat request for retransmission of at least one particular transport block set, the transmitter retransmits the at least one of the particular transport block sets. The adaptive modulation and coding controller is configured to change the specified modulation and coding scheme to a second specified modulation and coding scheme, enabling a combining of a particular transport block set transmitted at the first specified modulation and coding scheme with a retransmitted version of the particular transport block set transmitted at the second specified modulation and coding scheme.

摘要: The present invention is a receiver which includes a blind code detection device for determining the identity of a plurality of channels over which information is to be transmitted when the identity of all channels is not known by the receiver. The blind code detection device generates a candidate channel list filled with the identify of selected channels out of the plurality of channels. A multi-user detection device, responsive to the blind code detection device, processes those channels in the candidate code list.
