    摘要: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a first polarization part, and a second polarization part. The display panel includes an array substrate, an opposite substrate and an electro-optical material layer disposed between the array substrate and the opposite substrate. The electro-optical material layer reflects first circularly polarized light having a wavelength of a predetermined range and transmits second circularly polarized light having a phase difference with the first circularly polarized light. The first polarization part faces a rear face of the array substrate and converts incident light of the rear face into the first circularly polarized light. The second polarization part faces a front face of the opposite substrate and blocks the first circularly polarized light reflected from the electro-optical material layer and transmits the second circularly polarized light transmitted through the electro-optical material layer.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an improved flat panel liquid crystal display (LCD). In one embodiment the improved LCD includes a liquid crystal layer that completely fills a gap formed between a color filter array and a thin film transistor (TFT) array. The TFT array includes a substrate that includes one or more pixel areas. Each pixel area may be divided into at least two pixel sub-areas. Each pixel sub-area is configured to have a different electric field than its counterparts, such that mutual compensation in the sub-areas decreases distortion of a gamma curve and improves lateral visibility of the flat panel display. In one embodiment, a first pixel electrode is formed in a first of the at least two pixel sub-areas; and a second pixel electrode is formed in a second of the at least two pixel sub-areas.

    摘要: An OCB (Optically Compensated Bend) liquid crystal display in which impulse driving is performed such that an impulse data voltage is applied between normal data voltages used for displaying an image. The impulse data voltage is divided into a first impulse data voltage and a second impulse data voltage having a voltage value that will not break a bent alignment of the OCB liquid crystals. Referring to the application of the first impulse data voltage between the normal data voltages as first impulse driving and the application of the second impulse data voltage between the normal data voltages as second impulse driving, the second impulse driving is performed at every two or more of the first impulse drivings, so as to not break the bent alignment of the liquid crystals and to thereby improve luminance of the LCD.

The total reflection plate totally internally reflects or transmits the light selectively according to an incident path of the light. The array sheet disposed on the total reflection plate includes a plurality of units having an incident surface making contact with the total reflection plate and an emitting surface facing the incident surface, refracts the totally internally reflected light at a contact surface between the incident surface and the total reflection plate to emit the refracted light, and emits the transmitted light as a non-refracted light. Accordingly, luminance of the display device is enhanced.

    摘要: A liquid crystal lens panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a light-blocking member. The first substrate includes a plurality of individual electrodes. The individual electrode receives a voltage to have a light path length distribution of a Fresnel lens shape. The second substrate includes a common electrode opposition the individual electrodes. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first and second substrates. The light-blocking member is disposed on an area in correspondence with the individual electrode in which a voltage discontinuously varied is applied thereto. Thus, a liquid crystal lens panel of a Fresnel lens type is realized to decrease a liquid crystal cell gap, so that a process efficiency of the liquid crystal lens panel may be enhanced and a manufacturing cost of the liquid crystal lens panel may be reduced.
