    Abstract: A measuring method, wherein point cloud data of a building is acquired by a laser scanner, wherein the laser scanner has an attitude detector for detecting a tilting with respect to a horizontality or a verticality, converts the point cloud data into a horizontal distance and a height or a difference of a height based on the tilting detected by the attitude detector, sets a height line at a predetermined height on a wall surface, averages a horizontal distance information of the point cloud data included in a predetermined width with the height line as a center in a height direction, further develops the horizontal distance information along the height line in a horizontal direction, and measures a horizontal cross section at the predetermined height.

    Abstract: An inner frame is rotatably supported by the outer frame through a first shaft, a tilt detecting unit has a tilt sensor and is rotatably supported by the inner frame through a second shaft orthogonal to the first shaft, a first encoder is provided on the first shaft, a second encoder is provided on the second shaft, the tilt detecting device includes the motors provided on the respective shafts so that the respective shafts are rotated, and an arithmetic processing module which drives and controls the respective motors, in which the arithmetic processing module is configured to drive the respective motors so that the tilt sensor detects the horizontality based on a signal issued by the tilt sensor and to calculate a tilt of the outer frame based on the outputs from the first and second encoders when the tilt sensor detected the horizontality, and the arithmetic processing module is configured to reverse the tilt detecting unit 180° at least once based on the outputs from the respective encoders in relation to the first shaft and the second shaft in a stationary state of the tilt detecting device, and to perform the calibration of the tilt sensor based on the detection signals output from the tilt sensor before and after the reversal.

    Abstract: The invention provides a surveying instrument, which comprises a protractor table installed via an installation base and capable of detecting a lateral rotation angle and a surveying instrument main unit mounted on the protractor table via supporting mechanisms capable of rotating longitudinally, wherein the supporting mechanisms enables the surveying instrument main unit to set in a predetermined angle condition with respect to the protractor table, wherein the surveying instrument main unit comprises a distance measuring unit which has a light emitting element for emitting a distance measuring light, a distance measuring light projecting unit for projecting the distance measuring light, a light receiving unit for receiving a reflected distance measuring light and a photodetector for receiving the reflected distance measuring light and for producing a light receiving signal, and the distance measuring unit performs a distance measurement of an object to be measured based on the light receiving signal from the photodetector, a control unit for controlling a distance measuring operation, an optical axis deflecting unit, which is provided on an optical axis of the distance measuring light projecting unit and on an optical axis of the light receiving unit, for controlling a deflection of the both optical axes and an attitude detecting unit which has a tilt detecting unit for detecting a horizontal and mechanisms for tilting the tilt detecting unit so that the tilt detecting unit is maintained horizontally, and is configured to detect a tilting amount of the surveying instrument main unit.

    Abstract: A laser remote length measurement instrument capable of remotely measuring a length between two required points in a non-contact manner is provided. The laser remote length measurement instrument includes a rangefinding unit, an optical axis deflection section, a rotation angle detector, and a computation controller. The rangefinding unit is configured to cause a light emitting element to emit visible rangefinding light and obtain a light reception signal. The optical axis deflection section is configured to scan to-and-fro between two directions with the rangefinding light. The rotation angle detector is configured to detect a divergence angle between the two directions. The computation controller is configured to compute a distance between illuminated points in the two directions illuminated with the rangefinding light on the basis of rangefinding results for the illuminated points and the divergence angle between the two directions.
