    摘要: A projection display apparatus comprising: a housing member that accommodates an illumination optical unit; a projection optical unit; and a cooling unit, wherein the housing member includes a layout space in a virtually columnar shape having a bottom that is a circumscribed circle of the projection optical unit in a cross sectional view vertical to the projection optical unit; the layout space includes a first layout space in a substantially conical shape and a second layout space excluding the first layout space; the projection optical unit is provided in the first layout space; and at least a part of the illumination optical unit and the cooling unit is provided in the second layout space; and the illumination optical unit and the cooling unit are disposed in a symmetrical positional relationship with respect to the projection optical unit.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a fluorescent display tube suitable for use in a large screen display. The present invention enables the fluorescent segments R, G and B to be arranged at positions close to a peripheral side wall (13) of the tube (1) by, particularly, enlarging a range to which electron beams can impinge and eliminating the influence of electric field near the glass wall of the fluorescent display tube. Upon this, light emitting area can be increased to obtain bright display and distances between adjacent fluorescent segment R, G and B trios of adjacent fluorescent display tubes (1) and between adjacent trios in each fluorescent display tube (1) are made small to thereby shorten the arranging pitch of the fluorescent trios as a whole in a large screen display device, improving resolution.

    摘要: There is disclosed a projector which supplies air cooled by a cooling unit to an optical element group, whereby the occurrence of dew condensation is prevented. The projector includes a cooling apparatus 11 disposed in a main body 1 and functioning as the cooling unit; a sealed or substantially sealed duct 30 through which cold air cooled by a cooler 18 of the cooling apparatus 11 is circulated and supplied to an optical element group 5 to cool the optical element group; an outside air introduction port 32 and an air discharge port 33 which function as a ventilation unit for introducing outside air into this duct 30 to discharge the air from the duct 30, dampers 34 and 35 for opening and closing these ports; and a controller C functioning as a control unit for controlling the dampers 34 and 35 to execute a ventilating operation in the duct 30.
