    摘要: An apparatus and method for a meat cut classification and fat trimming for sensing the thickness of a layer of fat of a cut of meat and the various contours thereof as it travels along a conveyance and providing the fat thickness or classification information to a downstream system for performing a fat trimming operation. The meat cut classification system comprises a split/multi-belt conveyor having split/multi-belts proximately spaced apart extending in the same direction and having a uniform equidistant gap there between and said conveyor having a drive for conveying the meat cut through the classification system and a multi-probe mechanism assembly operable to position the probes between the multi-belts of the conveyor and extend the probes upward between the multi-belts to penetrate the meat cut for measuring the fat thickness. The probe assembly is further operable to translate the probe in a direction and at a velocity that is synchronized with the direction and velocity of the split/multi-belt conveyor. This can be achieved by using the same drive for the conveyor and the probe mechanism.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to methods and systems for improving the efficiency of livestock production using genetic information obtained from the animal. The methods of the invention comprise obtaining a genetic sample from an animal or embryo, determining the genotype of the animal or embryo with respect to specific quality traits, grouping animals with like genotypes, and optionally, further sub-grouping animals based on like phenotypes. Based on the genotype, an animal is treated in a particular way. For example, uniform feeding regimens are designed for a particular group so as to maximize feed efficiencies and accurately predict slaughter times among like animals possessing a desired quality trait. Such methods include obtaining and maintaining the genetic data obtained from each animal, and optionally other data relating to the animal's health, condition or parentage, or to its herd, and providing this data to others through systems that are web-based, contained in a database, or attached to the animal itself such as by an implanted microchip.

    摘要: This hybrid pulley assembly is comprised of two outer driven synchronized timing pulleys and a centerpiece inner driver timing pulley. This pulley assembly operates in such a manner where the input driving timing belt mounted on the centerpiece timing pulley positively drives the outer synchronized timing pulleys. An outer driven timing belt, which is mounted on the outer driven timing pulleys and across the centerpiece driver timing belt, is partially supported by the centerpiece driver timing belt top surface in the area enclosed by the two outer synchronized timing pulleys. This configuration allows this hybrid pulley assembly to be driven from within. This alleviates the need of conventional drive train systems where a timing driven belt is driven through an axial input to the driven timing pulley.

    摘要: A microscope slide stainer includes a waste bin with an open top, and supporting notches arranged on the top edges of opposite sides. A slide supporting rack is supported in a horizontal position across the top of the bin in the supporting notches. The rack includes a pair of rails extending along a horizontal base. Brackets arranged on top of the rails define a plurality of spaced-apart slide holding positions. A hot plate is positioned between the rails and spaced above the horizontal base. A control box is attached to the hot plate for temperature control. Pins extending from opposite sides of the hot plate ride in direction-changing slots in the rails to enable the hot plate to be moved between a raised position engaged against the bottom of the slides, and a lowered position disengaged from the slides. Grooves are arranged on top surface of the hot plate to prevent the wet slides from sticking to it. A cover is removably positioned over the rack to define a heating and humidity chamber. The rack can be placed in a tilted position for rinsing the slides by inserting its ends in slanted slots extending downwardly from the supporting notches on the bin.

    摘要: A golf swing teaching device includes two elastic arm cuffs which are interconnected and which each fit on one of the golfer's arm between the golfer's elbow and the golfer's shoulder such that the golfer's arms are biased toward each other while executing a golf swing. An elastic hip strap is connected to the arm cuff holding the trailing swing arm and includes a clamp which is secured to a point in proximity to the golfer's hip which is on the opposite side of the golfer's body as the golfer's trailing swing arm. As the golfer executes a golf back swing, the hip strap causes the golfer's hip to be rotated in the direction of the golfer's back swing. The position of the hip strap on the golfer's hip and the length of the hip strap can be adjusted to suit different golfers and the use of different clubs by individual golfers. In accordance with the method of the present invention, the golfer first repeatedly practices the golf swing with both arms in their respective arm cuffs. After sufficient practice, the golfer's leading arm is removed from its arm cuff and practice is continued with only the golfer's trailing swing arm being placed in an arm cuff. A fastener is provided to hold the empty arm cuff next to the other arm cuff when only one arm cuff is being used.
