    摘要: A circuit configured with MOSFETs having a first range of subthreshold conduction, is provided with at least one switchable pathway between the circuit and a power or ground node, such that the switchable pathway is operable to substantially reduce leakage current through the circuit. In a further aspect of the present invention, the switchable pathway is a FET having substantially the same subthreshold conduction characteristics as the FETs in the circuit to which the switchable pathway is coupled, the FET being configured to be driven into both inversion and accumulation.

    摘要: In gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), the achievable deposition rate of the filler wire is coupled with the arc energy and the mass of the molten metal in the weld pool. In this invention, a side arc is added into the GTA (gas tungsten arc) between the wire and the same tungsten that establishes the GTA with the work-piece. While its anode provides a GMAW (gas metal arc welding) melting mechanism to completely melt the wire at high speeds, the undesirable dependence of deposition rate on the weld pool mass is also eliminated. As a result, the deposition rate is increased and the ability to provide desirable deposition rate and base metal melting/penetration freely without coupling is established for the GTAW.

    摘要: An amphiphilic substance includes a hydrophobic group, and a polynucleotide group attached to the hydrophobic group. The polynucleotide group includes a first polynucleotide segment and a second polynucleotide segment. The first and second polynucleotide segments are at least partially complementary and are bound together by interactions including base pairing. At least one of the first and second segments includes at least one of an aptamer and a nucleic acid-based enzyme. A lipid vesicle may include the amphiphilic substance, a first polar lipid that is an unstable vesicle former, and a polar liquid. Upon exposure to a rupture agent, the vesicle may rupture, releasing the contents of the vesicle. Substances that may be released from the vesicle include bioactive agents, such as drug agents.

    摘要: It is determined whether a mobile user device is within transmission range of one or hidden networks. A list of known networks may be accessed, the list including broadcast and hidden networks. For the hidden networks, the network connection component may instruct a network interface to actively probe for the hidden networks. If the response is received for a communication corresponding to a particular network, then it may be considered that the mobile user interface is within transmission range of the hidden network. If auto-connection logic is activated, a preference order may be applied to select which of the detected broadcasts and/or hidden networks to connect. A user interface displays broadcast and hidden networks determined to be within transmission range of the mobile user device. The user device also displays hidden networks for which it has not yet been attempted to determine whether the hidden networks are in range.
