摘要: A memory integrated type display device is provided which can simplify the circuit structure and suppress consumption power. The display device has a liquid crystal pixel unit having a plurality of display elements disposed in a matrix shape, a horizontal shift register for applying a voltage to the liquid crystal pixel unit, a digital/analog conversion unit, an amplifier, a scanning line drive unit for selecting scan lines in a vertical direction and a memory for storing display data, the memory being electrically connected between the amplifier and liquid crystal pixel unit.

摘要: A display device which incorporates a touch panel function therein can reduce the number of elements which constitute a photo sensor circuit and can accurately detect an input coordinate position without requiring a particular coordinate arithmetic circuit. In a display device which includes: a display part on which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix array; and a plurality of photo detection circuits which are arranged in a matrix array in the inside of the display part, each photo detection circuit of the plurality of photo detection circuits includes: a photo sensor which converts an incident light into a optical current corresponding to intensity of the incident light; an integral capacitance which integrates the optical current converted by the photo sensor; and a comparator to which a voltage of the integral capacitance is inputted; and the comparator includes a transistor of an open drain output type with a grounded source.

摘要: A plurality of organic EL elements which are arranged on a display panel lowers the brightness along with a lapse of light emitting time and hence, the power consumption is increased to maintain the brightness. However, the increase of the power consumption shortens a lifetime of the organic EL elements. To overcome this drawback, a power supply circuit which drives the display panel has a function of controlling an electric power supplied to the display panel to a fixed value or less in response to a detection signal from a detection part which detects a cathode current of the organic EL elements.

摘要: An image display device includes: a first power supply line; a second power supply line; a plurality of pixel circuit; a driving circuit for supplying a data signal and a scanning signal; and a switch unit. Each pixel circuit includes: a driving transistor between the first power supply line and the second power supply line; a light emitting element controlled by the driving transistor; and a storage capacitor for storing the data signal and controlling the driving transistor. The driving circuit causes the storage capacitor to store the data signal and controls an intensity of light emission based on the data signal. The switch unit is provided at one of one end of the first power supply line and one end of the second power supply line to control whether or not to allow a current to flow from the first power supply line to the second power supply line.

摘要: A display device with a touch screen having display pixels and optical sensors each arranged in a matrix. In the display device, a backlight controller controls a backlight unit to be turned ON in a data display duration and controls the backlight unit to be turned OFF in a sensor detection duration other than the data display duration. Consequently, the influence of backlight on a touch part when the shade of the touch part is to be detected, can be reduced and an accuracy in the detection of an optical sensor can be increased.

摘要: The present invention realizes the reduction of cost of a display device having a touch panel. The display device having a touch panel includes a display panel, and a touch panel which is arranged on the display panel in an overlapping manner in plane. The touch panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate which are arranged to face each other with spacers sandwiched therebetween, and a first semiconductor chip which is mounted on the first substrate. The first substrate includes, on a surface side thereof which faces the second substrate, a plurality of first lines which is arranged parallel to each other in the first direction, a first chip mounting region on which the first semiconductor chip is mounted, and a plurality of first connection portions each of which is constituted of a portion of each line in the plurality of first lines, the first semiconductor chip includes a plurality of first bump electrodes which is arranged in one direction, the plurality of first connection portions are arranged in the arrangement direction of the plurality of first bump electrodes within the first-chip mounting region, and an arrangement pitch of the plurality of first bump electrodes is set larger than an arrangement pitch of the plurality of first connection portions.

摘要: An image display device includes a black spot defect position determination circuit which determines a position of a black-spot defective pixel of a self-luminous display panel. A detection-use current source in the black spot defect position determination circuit is connected to pixels during a period separate from a display period of data signals thus determining a black spot defect. The position of the black spot defect is stored in a storing circuit and is transmitted to a display and detection control circuit. The display and detection control circuit corrects the data signals to the pixels around the defective pixel based on a black spot defect position, and drives a data line drive circuit based on the corrected data signals thus visually correcting the black spot defect.

A current comparator circuit (47) in a data line drive circuit having a current compensating function (2) detects only the result of size comparison between the current amount due to the degeneration of a self-emission element and a reference value. The reduction of the current amount below the reference value is stored by being added to the least significant bits of a display data storage circuit (30). In accordance with the display data read from the storage circuit (30), a D/A conversion circuit (41) generates a write signal voltage.
