The method includes measuring an Interference Suppression (IS) gain for each user equipment in a set of user equipments currently being served by the radio base station. The method further includes determining a user constellation pertaining to information regarding the different user equipments in the set of user equipments and their respective bitrates, and updating a table of IS gains with the measured IS gain in bins corresponding to the determined user constellation. A method for uplink channel estimation comprises providing of a channel state model in a channel estimator. An uplink radio signal of a present time slot is obtained in the channel estimator as well as a series of transmit power control commands issued for controlling a transmit power of the uplink radio signal. A delay between the time a transmit power control command is issued and the time that the transmit power control command is applied is estimated based on measurements of the particular received uplink radio signal. Channel states are adapted based on a transmit power control command compatible with the estimated delay. After the adaptation, channel states of the present time slot are estimated in the channel estimator, by tracking the demodulated uplink radio signal with the channel state model. A channel estimator performing such method is also described.

Methods and apparatus for handling positioning information by sending a positioning result, which can include uncertainty information, in at least one of a graphical format and a text-encoded graphical format. Positioning result accuracy, which can be important for emergency services, is improved by avoiding conversion between positioning result formats. Positioning results can be flexibly delivered, without concern for the particular radio access technology used in a communication network. The graphical format can be a vector graphics format, such as Scalable Vector Graphics and Wireless Vector Graphics. The text-encoded graphical format can be based on the extensible Markup Language, the positioning information in the graphical and/or text-encoded graphical format can be signaled by a messaging service.

A method and nodes for enabling a client node such as a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) or Location Services (LCS) client to set up a communication to a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communications network. The method enables the client node to provide solutions that enable location aware non-voice based emergency services by means of new signalling and a new architecture. A text message may be sent from the UE to the client node via a network node, wherein the text message includes UE location information and a client indicator. The UE location information and the client indicator are then utilized to determine a client node which is most appropriate for communication with the UE.

Further, a radio network controller in the wireless network may manage the interference in cells based on the interference suppressed information by generating an interference management instruction based on the interference suppressed information, and sending the interference management instruction to the radio base station to control one or more interference management settings, e.g., a power control setting, a load threshold, etc.
