    摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode, a light emitting layer and an anode, in that order, and comprising; (i) in the light-emitting layer at least one light emitting compound selected from amine containing monostyryl, amine containing distyryl, amine containing tristyryl and amine containing tetrastyryl compounds, and (ii) a further layer located between the cathode and the light emitting layer, containing (a) 10-volume % or more of a carbocyclic fused ring aromatic compound, and (b) at least one salt or complex of a Group IA, IIA, IIIA or IIB element of the Periodic Table. Such devices exhibit reduce drive voltage while maintaining good luminance.

    摘要: A tandem OLED device includes an anode, a cathode, at least first and second electroluminescent units disposed between the anode and the cathode. The electroluminescent units include an individually selected organic light-emitting layer and an intermediate connector disposed between the first and second electroluminescent units. The intermediate connector includes an n-type doped organic layer having an n-type dopant and an electron-transporting material. The electron-transporting material is a mixture of a first organic compound that has the lowest LUMO value of the compounds in the n-type doped organic layer, in an amount greater than or equal to 10% by volume and less than 100% by volume of the layer; at least one second organic compound exhibiting a higher LUMO value than the first organic compound.

    摘要: Disclosed is an electroluminescent device having a cathode and an anode, an organic light emitting layer (LEL) containing at least one organic host material and a light emitting first dopant, and a layer containing a stabilizing second dopant wherein: a) the organic host material is capable of sustaining both hole and electron injection and recombination of electrons and holes; and b) the first dopant is a green light emitting organic material capable of accepting energy from the electron-hole recombination in the host material and of accepting energy transferred from the second dopant and is selected to have a bandgap energy lower than or equal to the bandgap energy of the second dopant material; c) the second dopant is a stabilizing material capable of accepting energy of electron-hole recombination in the host material, the second dopant being selected to have a bandgap energy lower than the bandgap energy of the host material, but higher or equal to the first dopant; wherein emissions from the first dopant and emissions from the second dopant, if any, have a peak emission in the OLED device less than 570 nm.

    摘要: Powdered organic material s are mixed to form a homogeneous mixture, which includes, at least one dopant component and one host component, to form a pellet for use in thermal physical vapor deposition to produce an organic layer on a substrate for use in an organic light-emitting device. The method of mixing includes, combining organic materials in a powder form and placing the powder organic materials in a container, heating the container in a range of temperatures from 40 to 100° C. for 30 to 100 minutes while purging the atmosphere in the container to a reduced pressure in a range from 10−1 to 10−3 Torr to remove moisture. Filling the container with an inert atmosphere, mixing the powder organic materials in the inert atmosphere to form a homogeneous mixture of powder organic materials, and compacting the homogenous mixture of powder organic materials to form a pellet.
