摘要： An optical module 10 include a substrate 11, a holding member 12 of resin that is secured to the substrate 11, has a pair of through holes 21 drilled through the substrate 11 in a direction orthogonal to the upper surface 11a, and the entire length L in the direction orthogonal to the upper surface 11a is at least 1.9 mm and less than 2.8 mm, and a pair of guide pins 13 that are inserted into the through holes 21 and secured to the holding member 12 by locking pieces 14, in which one end section of each of the guide pins 13 is held by the holding member 12 across the entire length L and the other end section to be inserted into one of guide pin insertion holes 32 of the MT connector 30 projects 2.8 mm or more from the holding member 12. This structure downsizes the optical module connected to an MT connector.

摘要： In an optical connector for use in connecting an optical fiber, a housing defines an optical axis extending in a predetermined direction. For positioning the optical fiber along the optical axis, a ferrule is accommodated in the housing to be movable in the predetermined direction. The housing further accommodates a fixing member engaged with the housing in the predetermined direction. Between the ferrule and the fixing member, an elastic member is interposed to urge the ferrule towards one side in the predetermined direction. In addition, the housing has a guide groove extending in the predetermined direction. The fixing member has a guide portion protruding through the guide groove to the outside of the housing.

摘要： There is provided an optical connector device which prevents leakage of light until right before connectors are connected to each other and is small-sized by a reduction in space for housing shutters. The optical connector device is an optical connector device comprising a first optical connector and a second optical connector. When shutters for shutting out light from the optical connectors are collided with each other, the shutters move to positions where they do not shut out the light. Therefore, the first optical connector and the second optical connector are connected to each other. After moving, the shutter of the first optical connector and the shutter of the second optical connector are inserted into the second optical connector while remaining contacting each other.

摘要： In a fixing apparatus for fixing an optical connector to an optical cable having an optical fiber and wire members arranged around the optical fiber, the fixing apparatus includes first, second, and third holding members. The first holding member is adapted to be inserted between the wire member and the optical fiber. The second holding member is adapted to be disposed outside the wire members, the second holding member cooperating with the first holding member to tightly hold the wire members therebetween. The third holding member surrounding the second holding member and having an axial end portion adapted to be engaged with the second holding member in a rotation direction with respect to the optical cable. In addition, the third holding member has another axial end portion adapted to be connected to the optical connector.

An internal member holds the optical fiber and is received in the shell member to be removable in a first direction. A stopper is engaged with the engaging portion in the first direction. A spring is engaged with the internal member and the stopper and urges the internal member towards a second direction opposite to the first direction. The shell member has a release operation portion for releasing the engaging portion from the stopper.

A key is formed on an inner peripheral surface of a hollow cylindrical portion of a receptacle adapter such that a front end thereof is rearward of a front end of the hollow cylindrical portion. Projecting portions are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the hollow cylindrical portion at locations away from the key in a circumferential direction, for receiving a front end of a hollow cylindrical portion of a plug adapter inserted into the hollow cylindrical portion of the receptacle adapter. Receiving portions are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the hollow cylindrical portion of the plug adapter, for receiving the projecting portions. The front end of the key is rearward of the front end of each projecting portion.
