Abstract: An ambient light based illumination control system for motor vehicles. The system incorporates an ambient light sensor and provides control signals for controlling headlamp illumination and illumination of interior instrument panel lighting. The control system provides a variation of intensities for instrument panel lighting in transient ambient light conditions. The system may further be integrated into systems including navigation displays or other vehicle displays to provide adjustments for such displays in response to varying ambient light levels.

Abstract: A lane departure avoidance system is provided with a rumble strip sensing device and a lateral lane departure rate determining component. Abstract: At least one guide member extends longitudinally along at least a portion of a stowed side curtain airbag. At least one guide ramp directs deployment of the side curtain airbag toward the openable passage defined at least in part by one or more trim pieces. The guide member surrounds the side curtain airbag on three sides to define an airbag deployment opening facing a rear surface of the one or more trim pieces adjacent the openable passage. The interior trim structure covers the stowed side curtain airbag and allows deployment of the side curtain airbag through an interface joint to a position along a sidewall of a passenger compartment adjacent a rear seat location of a two-door coupe style vehicle. The interface joint defines an openable passage along the first and second abutting edges allowing deployment of a side curtain airbag through the interface joint.

Abstract: A horn assembly for a motor vehicle includes a sound generating member, a housing having a first opening connected to the sound generating member and a second opening to disperse sound from the sound generating member, and a deflector to restrict ingress of liquid into the second opening, while allowing egress of sound from the second opening. The deflector includes a base member having a first end coupled to the housing and a second end defining a portion of a primary opening to direct dispersement of sound from the sound generating member. The deflector includes a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall, where each lateral wall is coupled to the base member and extends toward the housing. A distal edge of each of the first and second lateral walls is spaced apart from the housing to form secondary openings allowing dispersement of sound from the housing.

Abstract: A vehicle bumper assembly includes a bumper reinforcement member, a corner bracket and a biasing member. The bumper reinforcement member has a first lateral end section, a second lateral end section, an outboard facing side extending between the first and second lateral end sections and an inboard facing side with a vehicle mounting structure.
