摘要： A gripper head assembly for a product processing machine includes a gripper support and a plurality of grippers secured to the gripper support to grip a plurality of product routed through the product processing machine. The gripper head assembly is configured such that a spacing of the plurality of grippers is changeable relative to the gripper support. A product processing machine includes a grid assembly for guiding product to a destination and a gripper head assembly for gripping product and guiding the product into the grid assembly. 摘要： Tandem magazines store tray blanks of different size for loading product in different pack patterns. Each magazine has a depending cam device that engages unique lugs on the tray conveyor to allow the lowermost blank to be received on the tray conveyor, and then to be gripped by the unique lug for transport downstream toward the load station. Since only one magazine is used at one time these cam devices can be deactivated as desired. One of the two blank withdrawing means associated with each magazine is located under the tray blank conveyor and operates in timed relationship with it. The blank withdrawing means are also selectively deactivated for the same reason.

摘要： A paperboard tray blank has minimum height h in relation to the diameter D of the cans in the tray such that this diameter is equal to or greater than three times said height. The tray is formed from the blank by gluing corner tabs to the side walls or flaps, and the glue joint is compressed in a unique compression unit. The corner tabs have a length greater than the height h of the side and end walls so that the corners of the tray are provided with a tapered configuration which results in the ends of these corner tabs being engageable with the cans within the tray. The compression unit yieldably engages the outside of the tray to set the glue.

The orbit of the grids is such that each grid also moves through a discharge station where the article groups are dropped into packing cases again without interrupting the motion of the articles in the direction of a packing case conveyor.
