Abstract:
A system for planting cover crop seeds in fields with standing row crops, including a high-clearance agricultural vehicle with a high-clearance toolbar, soil sealers, and a seeder with a reciprocator above the soil sealers to deliver various types of seeds onto the disrupted soil after which the soil sealers cover the seeds with soil.
Abstract:
A mounting assembly for an agricultural product conveying system includes a mount having a seed tube mounting feature and a biasing member mounting feature. The mounting assembly also includes a biasing member configured to support a powered agricultural product conveyor. The seed tube mounting feature is configured to engage a corresponding mounting feature of a seed tube to support the seed tube on the mount, and the biasing member mounting feature is configured to engage a corresponding mounting feature of the biasing member to support the biasing member on the mount.
Abstract:
An agricultural planter has a chassis with a tool bar and at least one row unit. Each row unit is carried by the tool bar and has a fluid actuator and a linkage assembly connecting it to the tool bar. The linkage assembly and fluid actuator allows the row unit to be raised and lowered. A control module is operable to individually raise and lower each row unit on the agricultural planter using the fluid actuator in response to either a manual input, an automatically determined requirement or condition of the at least one row unit, or an automatically determined operating condition of the agricultural planter. The control module is further operable to prevent the raising or lowering of an individual row unit on the agricultural planter based on either a configuration of the agricultural planter or the potential occurrence of an undesirable weight or drag distribution.
Abstract:
A system comprising an air seeder assembly has a base mount with base ears including a first pair of base bores and defining a channel therebetween with a channel width. The assembly comprising a seed boot removably mountable on the base mount, and having a pair of boot ears with a first pair of boot bores. A seed boot stabilizer is mountable on the seed boot and the base mount and positionable in the channel between the seed boot and the base mount. The boot stabilizer has a primary portion with a first stabilizer bore alignable with the first pair of base bores in the base ears. A fastener structure may extending through the pair of base bores of the base ears, the pair of boot bores of the boot ears and the stabilizer bore to fasten the stabilizer to the seed boot and the base mount.

A system for planting cover crop seeds in fields with standing row crops. A high-clearance agricultural vehicle is provided with a high-clearance toolbar. The system is provided with soil sealers. A seeder with a reciprocating seeder is provided above the soil sealers to deliver various types of seeds onto the disrupted soil, after which the soil sealers cover the seeds with soil.
Abstract:
A soil opener comprises first and second soil-cutting members. The first member has a first soil-engaging surface inclined at a first angle to a perpendicular to the soil surface when viewed along a travel direction, the first angle being greater than zero, and at a second angle to the travel direction when viewed along a perpendicular, the second angle being greater than zero. The second member comprises a rotating disc and has a second soil-engaging surface that faces away from, and in a substantially opposite direction to, the first soil-engaging surface, the second soil-engaging surface being inclined at a third angle to a perpendicular when viewed along the travel direction, the third angle being greater than zero and in the same sense as the first angle.
Abstract:
An agricultural implement is provided that has a variable placement hinge joint that allows adjacent implement sections to flex relative to each other and can be moved by an actuator to control spacing between adjacent work zones defined by the implement sections. This can be done by detecting relative angle changes between adjacent implement sections and moving the hinge joint to maintain a constant distance between the work zones so that row spacing is substantially constant across the entire implement, even between adjacent ground-engaging tools or other working units of different implement sections.
Abstract:
An agricultural machine for working soil or for sowing seeds, including a trailed chassis and work elements distributed on a longitudinal bar in plural sections, the longitudinal bar including at least two primary beams extending substantially transversely to a direction of advance in a work configuration. A secondary beam is connected to each primary beam by two connection devices, the secondary beams support the work elements, and each secondary beam rests on the soil by two support wheels and is configured to move freely during work to follow a profile of the terrain.
Abstract:
A material decelerating device is connected in series with a distribution tube in proximity to a material outlet in an agricultural air distribution system for decelerating conveying air which placing material into a furrow in the ground. The material decelerating includes an inlet tube connected to the distribution tube to receive material and conveying air therefrom. The inlet tube is connected at an intermediate location on a center tube of the device which exhausts the air upwardly to an exhaust opening and deposits the material downwardly through an outlet opening. A cap adjustably spans the exhaust opening to vary the amount of air exhausted. The inlet tube is inclined downwardly in alignment with a helical recessed channel within the center tube to guide material to the outlet.
Abstract:
A planting unit for depositing fertilizer and seed in a single pass, double shoot manner includes a rotating disc that cuts a furrow in a planting surface and a trailing seed boot, having a cutting edge, that cuts a vertically and horizontally offset trench in the furrow to form a seed bed in the planting surface. The disc has a mounting frame for mounting the disc to a linkage assembly that is, in turn, coupled to a toolbar mount. The seed boot is also attached to the mounting frame. This common attachment provides a relatively short and compact device without sacrificing fertilizer and seed stratification.
