摘要： A surgical drainage bag formed of an elongate flexible transparent body having a first end spaced from a second end, and a front wall spaced from a rear wall, with the front wall including an opening directed therethrough adjacent the first end, and the opening having a surrounding adhesive layer, with a removable flexible layer positioned upon the adhesive layer permitting exposure of the adhesive layer for adherence onto a patient. A unitary sponge member having a slot directed therethrough is directed through a side wall of the bag structure permitting a drainage tube to be secured within the slot upon separation of the sponge member when directing the drainage tube therethrough. A drain tube positioned at a second end of the bag permits ease of drainage of fluid within the bag.

摘要： An ostomy drainage receptacle comprising a flexible pouch having a stoma-receiving opening therein. A mounting assembly surrounds the opening, the mounting assembly comprising a stiffly flexible mounting ring having a flat annular rim portion sealed to the opening and a convex dome portion having a central stoma-receiving opening therethrough. The thickness of the convex dome portion gradually increases in radial directions from the rim to the stoma-receiving opening so that the dome portion may flex upon application of the receptacle to the body for a more secure seal. The receptacle has a relatively wide upper portion to provide space for a relatively large stoma and the increased width also provides a large adhesive area for application to the body.

摘要： An attachment assembly is disclosed for attaching an article such as a wound cover or a prosthesis to human skin. The article attached may be, for example, a cover or dressing over a wound or a fistula or other lesion, it may be an eye patch or a breast prosthesis for use after masectomy or it may be a pouch to cover the genital region. The attachment assembly comprises a body-attachable pad of skin-compatible adhesive material and a series of double-sided adhesive layers thereon, which layers are constructed and arranged to be manually peeled off one-by-one when desired in order to expose a fresh adhesive surface to which the article is then attached.

摘要： Adhesive pouch connecting rings with radially extending gripping portions are formed and stacked in angularly offset relation on a plurality of ostomy faceplates in a highly automated fashion. Sets of rings are die cut from a continuous adhesive coated sheet. Each set includes a plurality of spaced, identically oriented rings, in an arcuate pattern across the sheet. The sheet is intermittently advanced to bring the sets, one at a time, into alignment with faceplates located on a round platform. The platform is indexed to move the faceplates stepwise through a path coincident with the pattern of the ring sets. Each time the platform is indexed, a set of rings is removed from the sheet and the rings are placed on the respective faceplates, each in proper angular relation with the previous rings. Faceplates with a full complement of rings are removed from the platform.

摘要： A plastic composition adapted for use in contact with the skin, especially in the form of a pad applied to the skin, is manufactured by reacting a mixture of acrylamide-beta methacryloxyethyltrimethylammonium methyl sulfate copolymer, up to about 10 parts of acrylamide-sodium acrylate copolymer per part of said acrylamide-beta methacryloxyethyltrimethylammonium methyl sulfate copolymer, said acrylamide-sodium acrylate copolymer containing up to about 4% of sodium acrylate, and ethylene glycol in an amount sufficient to form a semisolid gel, said proportions being by weight. Useful embodiments of the pad include a sealing pad for an ostomy appliance and a skin-covering pad incorporated in a bandage.

The device includes a flexible fecal matter container having a closed end and an opening that is in fluid communication with a volume enclosed by the flexible container. An adhesive is disposed about the opening of the flexible container and has a first side that is secured to the flexible container. A second side of the adhesive is constructed to be removably applied to the epidermis of the user proximate an anal opening of the user. The adhesive is shaped to cooperate with the epidermis to circumscribe the anus in a sealed manner without interfering or overlapping anatomy associated with urinary function or medical devices, such as a catheter, associated therewith.
