摘要： A liquid dispensing device comprises a body member connectable to a source of pressurized liquid and a nozzle carried by the body member and having an inlet communicating with the source of pressurized liquid, and an outlet orifice for discharging the pressurized liquid in the form of a jet. The nozzle is rotatably mounted in the body member to either an operative position wherein its inlet faces the source of pressurized liquid for discharging the pressurized liquid through its outlet orifice, or to a self-cleaning position wherein its outlet orifice faces the source of pressurized liquid for flushing out clogging particles through the nozzle inlet. The nozzle includes two sections, one of which is presettable to a plurality of different positions to define with the other section a plurality of outlet orifices of different cross-sectional areas.

摘要： There is disclosed an improved spray tip particularly suited for airless pressured spraying utilizing a spray orifice member in a removable turret member that can be rotated to reverse the orifice for cleaning. The design permits rapid exchange of the turret member, permitting quick substitution of different sized orifice members. The turret member is sealed in the assembly with a thin plastic seal and a seal support which is compressed in the assembly by hand tightening. The seal and seal support are restrained in the spray tip against dislodgement during removal of the turret member. A tee seal is provided which has a flange of reduced diameter which seats against the end of the spray gun to insure complete sealing with hand tightening of the retainer nut. The spray tip also includes a low friction bearing washer between its housing and retaining nut which, in cooperation with the tee seal, permits rotation of the spray tip without loosening its retainer nut.

The design overcomes difficulties with prior art spray tips of this construction by the use of a thin resilient seal which is located between the turret member and a seal support which is compressed in the assembly. The use of the thin seal achieves a fluid tight seal that prevents leaking even of low viscosity liquids while avoiding the seizure problems which have characterized plastic seals of prior devices. The turret member is removeable without disassembly of the spray tip or its guard, thereby permitting facile interchanging of turret members with differently sized orifices.

摘要： There is disclosed a reverisble spray tip assembly useful for airless sprayers and the like which has the spray tip member mounted in a barrel housing with distal portions of equal lengths and diameters and medial rim means of greater diameter. The assembly is secured to the discharge of a spray gun and the like with a retainer but that holds the assembly in a spraying position with the spray tip member directed to discharge a spray pattern from the gun and in a reversed position with the spray tip member seated against the barrel of the spray gun to permit discharge of the liquid in a reverse direction through the spray tip member, thereby cleaning the member. The assembly is provided with at least one flat chordal surface on the forward distal portion which is indexed to the orifice of the spray tip member to permit alignment of the spray tip member after securing the retaining nut and assembly to the barrel of the spray gun. In a preferred embodiment, the retaining nut and spray tip assembly are combined with a spray guard which has a cylindrical portion for receiving the retaining nut with an aperture bearing a flat chordal surface for securing the flat spray pattern tip assembly against rotation with respect to the guard, permitting adjustment of spray pattern to desired orientation by rotating the guard and an antifriction bearing is provided to facilitate the rotational adjustment.

摘要： There is disclosed an improvement for mounting of a spray orifice in a pressured liquid spray system in which the orifice is carried by a plug member that fits into a tubular housing and locks therein by a sliding bolt action. The plug can be removed and reversed in its position to permit pressured cleaning of obstructions from the orifice. 摘要： A plastic disc-like bearing for a turret member housing of an airless spray gun includes a roughened generally spherical outer surface that engages a generally spherical seat of the housing. An integral peripheral flange of the bearing has a roughened surface that engages a flange seat of the housing adjacent the periphery of the spherical seat. A smooth generally spherical inner surface of the bearing engages a generally spherical turret member received within the housing and a conventional plastic ring cooperates with the plastic bearing to support the turret member for rotational movement between a spraying position and a non-spraying position. In the spraying position, a spraying orifice of the turret member faces outwardly of apertures in the plastic bearing and the housing, the aperture of the bearing being the smaller of the two.

The holder may have a stem 23 and handle 26 attached for effecting rotation, the spray tip being retained in a bore through the holder by the screw-threaded plug 16.
