    摘要: A section mill (10) for the rolling of steel sections is disclosed. The section mill includes a universal mill stand (12) and an edger mill stand (14) for rolling a workpiece (18) in a plurality of back-and-forth passes into a steel section having a web and one or more flanges. The section mill further includes a cooling arrangement (16) for cooling the workpiece while it undergoes rolling during one or more of the passes. The cooling arrangement includes a cooling box (20) having a spray head (21) with spray openings (22) for spraying jets of pressurized cooling liquid against the workpiece. The cooling arrangement further includes an actuator (38, 34) configured to move the cooling box relative to the stand frame (58) of the universal mill stand and/or of the edger mill stand for adjusting a distance between the spray openings and the workpiece.

    摘要: The embodiments herein provide a hot-rolled semi light weight, medium I-flange (I-7) beam with strength and more resistance when compared with the existing I-flange beam standards. The flange (I-7) beam comprises a vertical element known as web and two horizontal parallel edges known as flanges. The web connects the two parallel edges and forms the flange (I-7) beam. Due to light weight, the flange (I-7) beam imposes less load on structural elements in the construction and eases the use of beams at the construction site. Light weight of the flange (I-7) beams reduce the transportation costs at the construction site. Also, the flange (I-7) beam is cheaper than existing flange beams and uses less raw materials and energy during the manufacturing process. The manufactured flange (I-7) beams are free from defects such as crack, delamination, tear, non-metallic inclusion, and folds.

    摘要: A hard metal or non-metal member can be formed or shaped to have varying amounts of curvature and tapering by passing the member through a forming channel defined by two sets of opposed, axially displaceable rollers which can be dynamically moved horizontally and vertically in a predetermined range. The rollers are controlled by a computer, a translator, and a electromechanical displacement system such as a servo motor. Using data input by a user or preprogrammed instructions containing displacement instruction in the computer, the computer can subsequently instruct servo motors, via a translator, to move the rollers in the available axial directions. The servo motors may include a mechanism for converting rotational movement into fine linear mechanical movement of the rollers. The timing and rate of movement, direction, and force of the roller can be controlled to form and shape the member into a specific contour of curves or tapering sides.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an H-shaped steel used as a building structure such as a column material or the like for highrise and super highrise building structures. In the bainite structure of extra-low-carbon steel, diffusive &agr;q is finely dispersed in &agr;B to ensure tensile strength at the 590-MPa level and significantly improve toughness in the direction of the flange thickness. Fine dispersion of &agr;q is achieved by controlling Mn and Cu in proper ranges. In other word, the present invention provides 590MPa class heavy gauge H-shaped steel with excellent as-rolled toughness in the direction of the flange thickness, containing 0.001 to 0.025 wt % of C, 0.6 wt % or less of Si, 0.4 to 1.6 wt % of Mn, 0.025 wt % or less of P, 0.010 wt % or less of S, 0.1 wt % or less of Al, 0.6 to 2.0 wt % of Cu, 0.25 to 2.0 wt % of Ni, 0.001 to 0.050 wt % of Ti, and 0.0002 to 0.0030 wt % of B, wherein Mn/Cu≦2.0 and 250≦117 Mn (wt %)+163 Cu (wt %)≦350 are satisfied.

    摘要: Flanged structural products are rolled directly from rectangular slabs using only a universal mill having web rolls of fixed width corresponding to a selected finished web depth of the finished product. As the slab thickness is reduced between web rolls, flange rolls simultaneously apply pressure to the longitudinal edge surfaces of the slab, moving material toward the slab's center. The edge surfaces of the slab become upset in each pass so that the slab thickness at the edges exceeds the original slab thickness. As rolling proceeds, the web rolls are brought closer together as are the flange rolls. At every set point of these rolls, the cross section of the now deformed slab maintains a fixed ratio of areas between the web and the flanges, the same area ratio as in the finished product. The web and flange rolls are moved in precalculated increments until the slab takes on a finished wide flange shape, ready for use in the construction industry.

    摘要: A method of producing, by universal mills, H-beams which are excellent in the strength and toughness of the joint between web and flanges. In roughing process, symmetric convexes, which have substantially the same cross section and differ in position in different mills, are alternately formed on at least either of the outer and inner sides of the web and flanges of the piece being rolled, to forcibly cause metal flow in the joints between web and flanges and thereby to increase the amount of strain of the joints. In finishing process, the convexes formed in the roughing process are pressed, thereby obtaining a H-beam having predetermined dimensions.
