    摘要: The invention relates to a rolling mill, especially a swage rolling mill for heated operation, said rolling mill being provided with a pair of cylinders (3, 4) which are vertically arranged with the central axes thereof (5), can be adjusted in relation to each other, and are connected to at least one rotating drive (8) by means of cardan shafts (6; 7). The aim of the invention is to render the adjustment of the cylinders more favorable with lower displaced masses, to reduce friction and to improve lever arm relations. To this end, the rotating drive (8) for both cylinders (3; 4) is fixed beneath the mill floor level (2) and is respectively connected to a fixed gearbox (9) and the cardan shaft (6, 7) in a driving manner.

    摘要: A hard metal or non-metal member can be formed or shaped to have varying amounts of curvature and tapering by passing the member through a forming channel defined by two sets of opposed, axially displaceable rollers which can be dynamically moved horizontally and vertically in a predetermined range. The rollers are controlled by a computer, a translator, and a electro-mechanical displacement system such as a servo motor. Using data input by a user or preprogrammed instructions containing displacement instruction in the computer, the computer can subsequently instruct servo motors, via a translator, to move the rollers in the available axial directions. The servo motors may include a mechanism for converting rotational movement into fine linear mechanical movement of the rollers. The timing and rate of movement, direction, and force of the roller can be controlled to form and shape the member into a specific contour of curves or tapering sides.

    摘要: A device for driving a pair of vertical rolls or the support shafts thereof mounted in bearing chocks, wherein the necks of the vertical rolls can be coupled to drive gear shafts which are each mounted in a gear housing which is connected to and is movable together with the respective chock. The drive gear shafts are constructed as vertically mounted unilateral bevel gear shafts whose bevel gears mesh with the bevel gears of also unilateral bevel gear shafts in the form of hollow bevel gear shafts which are mounted horizontally and coaxially in the respective gear unit support housing. The hollow bevel gear shafts can be coupled to the drive unit through a floating intermediate shaft arranged between the two hollow shafts, wherein each hollow bevel gear shaft is connected through an internal spline to an external spline of the intermediate shaft.

    摘要: An edger mill comprising a pair of oppositely mounted vertical rolls adapted for relative movement whereby the gap between them can be adjusted. Each roll is provided with a drive including a drive shaft comprising two drive sections extending generally parallel to the direction of roll gap adjustment. The first drive section has a splined portion coupled to a drive pinion for accommodating large adjustments effected in the roll gap when the mill is not under load. The second drive section is connected to the first drive section by a splined coupling which accommodates small roll gap adjustments effected when the mill is under load.

The housing partially encircles the periphery of the pinion and has an upper member for mounting a thrust bearing on one end of the shaft and a lower capsule plate element mounting another bearing opposite the thrust bearing, which plate is snugly received in an aperture in the mill through which the drive gear passes. The modular unit is secured to the mill along at least two planes in a manner to completely enclose the pinion and gear and to permit disassembly thereof through axial and radial movements of the unit relative to the axis of the shaft.
