摘要： A printing device for use in a wire dot printer having a plurality of printing wires. The printing device includes a frame and a carriage slidably supported on the frame for lateral translation thereacross. A printing head is supported on the carriage and includes a nose member which supports the plurality of printing wires. First and second holding members are disposed on the carriage so that the nose member is intermediate the first and second holding members. A ribbon mask constructed from an elastic material is disposed on the nose member. The ribbon mask is removably held between the first and second holding members and extends across the nose member.

摘要： A matrix printing apparatus of the type having a path for sequentially transporting a series of documents to be printed between a plurality of dot matrix ballistic print heads and back-up platen rollers opposite each print head, the dot matrix ballistic print heads adapted, when actuated, to simultaneously impact an ink source and one side of each document as each document passes the print heads to apply printed material to each document in a pre-programmed array. The improvement of the present invention comprises moving the back-up platen rollers from a first position adjacent the print head when the print head is actuated, to a second position at a distance from the print head when the print head is not actuated. The matrix printing apparatus also includes an ink source comprising an endless inked ribbon which continually moves between the dot matrix ballistic print heads and the document path, and includes an ink guard disposed between the inked ribbon and the document path, the ink guard having relatively small apertures therein adjacent each print head wherein only the portion of the ribbon adjacent each print head extends through each corresponding aperture and contacts each document during application of printed material to each document.

摘要： The apparatus of the present invention is provided with a stain preventing element provided between a print drum and a hammer and adapted to shield alternate digits to be printed, said stain preventing element being shiftable in the transverse or advancing direction of print sheet. Said hammer is an intermediate hammer which is set to a predetermined initial position from an unsteady position upon the turning on of the power supply, and simultaneously necessary preparations such as paper feeding and ink application onto the print drum prior to the printing are performed. Also there is provided a stain preventing mechanism for multi-color printing, and the above-mentioned stain preventing member is provided with a means for preventing ink diffusion. Also the paper feed plunger etc. is structured similar to the said hammer thereby rendering the entire apparatus smaller and more compact.

摘要： A printer mask has spaced openings to allow impact therethrough of a hammer against characters arranged in circular columns along a character drum. The distance between the characters and mask changes automatically to compensate for changes in ambient temperature by using mounting materials of selected thermal coefficients of expansion. Uniform printing quality without marring the print paper is achieved with this mask construction.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a hammer actuated printer comprising a printing drum, a plurality of type carrying belts secured around the printing drum, and a plurality of hammers for depressing a paper toward a selected type carried on the type carrying belts. A plurality of separator strips are formed on the printing drum surface for separating the type carrying belts from each other. The separator strips have a height higher than that of the types carried by the type carrying belts, thereby precluding the paper from coming in contact with types which are not selected.
