    摘要: A wire management device for providing ability to wind, unwind and retract wires, cords, cables, strings, threads and similar objects onto a spool. By having wire brought onto the spool from one side through a slot, hole, opening, or over the edge of spool wall, the device may engage loose, unilaterally or bilaterally attached wires external to it, thereby delivering a new functionality and also making it portable and reusable. Wire centering elements enable centering of the spool with respect to the wire when tension is applied to the wire. These elements do not hamper the winding, unwinding, or retraction of the wire. A wire distribution guide mechanism further enables even distribution of the wire across the spool when the wire is retracted, while not affecting the operation of the wire management device.

    摘要: A dispenser for drum packed welding wire comprised of numerous coils includes a circular lid having an upper surface and a lower surface. The lower surface is floatingly positionable on top of the packed welding wire. A frame extends from the upper surface. The frame includes a hub and a radially extending support extending from the hub to the upper surface. The hub includes an aperture. The dispenser also includes a de-coil conduit having inlet and outlet ends for guiding welding wire therethrough. The inlet end and outlet end are generally at 90° to one another. The inlet end is disposed to receive welding wire in the drum parallel to the coils, and the inlet end is moveable relative to the circular lid as the wire is fed into the de-coil conduit. The outlet end directs the fed welding wire to the aperture in the hub.

The invention also relates to a method for writing a grating on a fiber having first and second ends, the fiber being wounded on a first reel and being capable of being wounded on a second reel, the method comprising connecting the first end of the fiber to a circulator; connecting said circulator to a source of light and to a first measurement means; de-winding the fiber from the first reel without rotation of the reel; writing a grating on the fiber with a source of radiation; and measuring reflection spectra of the grating with said first measurement means. The method also comprises winding the fiber on the second reel without rotation of the reel.

    摘要: The thread feeding device has a supporting element for a spool of thread to be fed, and a variable-speed motor having a body connected to the supporting element and an output shaft connected to an arm that is rotatable about the axis of the spool with respect to the spool itself. The arm is provided, proximate to its end that is spaced from the spool axis, with a thread passage so as to perform, as a consequence of its own rotation, the gradual unwinding of the thread from the spool. The device also has an actuation and control element that drives the motor with a speed that can vary according to the tension required for the thread during feeding.
