    摘要: The invention relates to a line for processing an optical fiber having first and second ends, the line comprising a support for receiving a reel with the fiber wounded thereon; a de-winder for unwinding the fiber without substantial rotation of the reel; and a processing station for receiving the optical fiber from said de-winder to perform a processing on a portion of the optical fiber. The invention also relates to a method for writing a grating on a fiber having first and second ends, the fiber being wounded on a first reel and being capable of being wounded on a second reel, the method comprising connecting the first end of the fiber to a circulator; connecting said circulator to a source of light and to a first measurement means; de-winding the fiber from the first reel without rotation of the reel; writing a grating on the fiber with a source of radiation; and measuring reflection spectra of the grating with said first measurement means. The method also comprises winding the fiber on the second reel without rotation of the reel.

    摘要: A wire electrical discharge machine includes a wire bobbin 3 with a wire electrode 1 wound therearound; a fixing base 25 for fixing the wire bobbin 3 so that the wire bobbin 3 does not rotate; a guide pulley 23 for supporting the wire electrode 1; a rotating arm 21 for supporting the guide pulley 23 and for pulling out the wire electrode 1 from the wire bobbin 3 and rotating the wire electrode 1 about the wire bobbin 3; a sliding mechanism 24 for supporting the guide pulley 23 slidably with respect to the rotating arm 21, in correspondence with a winding position of the wire electrode 1 on the wire bobbin 3; and a braking motor 13 for driving the rotating arm 21. It is possible to disperse the wear of the wire electrode 1 and improve the machining rate and machining accuracy. Further, it is possible to improve the reliability and suppress an increase in cost.

    摘要: A device for coiling and uncoiling elongated goods (K), such as wire, cable or the like, onto a drum (13) comprises a support (12) with driving means (25) for a spreader arm (10). The spreader arm (10) is rotatably mounted on the support (12) and supports a gripping arm (14) for coiling and uncoiling the elongated goods (K) onto the stationary drum (13). The gripping arm (14) is formed as a curved V-profile having a running track arranged for the elongated goods (K), which running track is oriented towards the drum (13). The said running track is defined by feeding rollers mounted within the gripping arm (14). The feeding rollers are spherical in shape and have a rolling resistance near zero to eliminate twisting of the elongated goods (K) during coiling and uncoiling. The device also comprises a lifting and rotating table (15) provided under the drum (13) for making possible 180° rotation of the drum (13), which has a coupling (16, 27) to the support (12) detachably arranged during lifting of the drum (13).

    摘要: An apparatus for producing a wound cable pack having uniform pitch and inporating a twist per turn in a cable. A drum is constrained to rotational movement around an axis of rotation. A non-rotating spool, sized to fit within the drum and having a central longitudinal axis coaxial with the drum's axis of rotation, is constrained to linear movement along the axis of rotation within the drum. A cable feeding assembly is mounted to the drum for rotation therewith. The cable feeding assembly leads the cable over one end of the spool prior to being fed onto the spool from a feed point. In this way, a twist is induced in the cable as the cable feeding assembly orbits about the spool. An electromechanical system is operatively connected to the drum and the spool to synchronize the rotational movement of the drum with the linear movement of the spool.

    摘要: The portable reel has a non-rotatable spool extending longitudinally forwardly from a rearward mount and which surrounds a rotatable spindle extending along a lineal longitudinal-axis. An elongate radial arm is co-rotatably attached to the spindle, and the arm first-end is rigidly attached to a manually graspable tubular guide for flexible conduit carried by the spool. The tubular guide has an internally unencumbered and axially curved bore that preferably terminates as flared configuration terminal openings. As seen in top plan view and at the stage when the arm first-end is strictly vertically below the spindle, the tubular guide curved-axis and the spindle longitudinal-axis have an angular relationship within the range of about 5.degree. to 20.degree..
