An artificial flagstone for use in combination with other similar flagstones for covering a surface with a natural random look, the flagstone having a generally hexagonal body comprising a first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth consecutive vertices; a first pair of first and second sides extending radially from the first vertex; a second pair of third and fourth sides extending radially from the third vertex; a third pair of fifth and sixth sides extending radially from the fifth vertex; wherein the sides of at least one of the first, second and third pair of sides have at least one split deviation along their length and are respectively rotational images of each other, and the artificial flagstone has no rotational symmetry when rotated about a central axis.

A structural wall unit system includes a plurality of wall units having at least one face being a rotational tessellation. The face has at least two irregular sides extending therefrom. Each side of the wall units have at least one spacer or connector configured to engage other wall units. The structural wall unit system also includes a plurality of starter course units, where each starter course unit has a portion of a primary rotational tessellation element having at least one irregularly shaped side that is an image of the first side or the third side. Each irregularly shaped side of the starter course units have at least one spacer or connector configured to engage the wall units, and the starter course units have at least one straight side. The starter course units and the wall units are configured for assembly as a structural wall having a natural, random appearance.

A culvert structure interconnectable with interconnectable paver blocks. The culvert structure comprises an elongated rigid casing having a bottom wall, opposed parallel vertical side walls, and an open top end. One of the vertical side walls has at least one projection formation for interconnection with a slot of adjacent ones of the paver blocks in a paved surface formed by the paver blocks. The other of the vertical side walls has a slot formation for interconnection with a blocks engaging projection of adjacent ones of the paver blocks in the paved surface. The bottom wall has passage means for the evacuation of water therethrough and a support structure connected to the rigid casing for supporting a grate over the open top end.

The present document describes a padding layer for a multi-layered sports playing field. Various improvements are proposed for enhancing athlete's safety, surface hardness, water drainage, heat management, ease of assembly/installation, durability/longevity, uniformity, resistance to change in weather according to seasons, and stability. The improvements include: matching (multiple-wise) of spacing between rows of backstitches of the top layer and the drainage channels on top surface of the padding layer; a slit in the external tab portion of the padding layer panel, a slit near the lateral part of the tab or blank portion providing a hinging effect thereto, and/or protrusions at various positions on the tab or blank portions to account for change in size of the padding layer panel; drainage holes within the drainage channels; and various configurations of drainage channels on the bottom surface of the padding layer to improve evacuation of water toward the sides of the playing surface.

A method for installing a paver system includes positioning a first grid substrate adjacent to a second grid substrate. The first grid substrate and the second grid substrate are flexibly bridged with a first paver piece. A first portion of the first paver piece is movably coupled with the first grid substrate at a first joint, and a second portion of the first paver piece is movably coupled with the second grid substrate at a second joint, the first and second grid substrates and the first paver piece forming an articulated paver linkage. A second paver piece is coupled with the second grid substrate. A third paver piece is coupled with the first grid substrate. The articulated paver linkage is fit within the specified area by movement of at least one of the first, second and third paver pieces and the first and second grid substrates. The movement is transmitted along the articulated paver linkage to maintain a specified alignment and spacing of the first, second and third paver pieces.

A surface covering unit includes at least one face comprised of at least one primary rotational tessellation element. The rotational tessellation element includes at least two pairs of sides, and the sides in each pair of sides have the same length and are images of one another. The sides of a first pair of sides extend from a first vertex and are rotationally spaced from each other, and the sides of a second pair of sides extend from a second vertex and are rotationally spaced from each other. The sides of the first and second pairs of sides have two or more straight line segments or complex curves, and are not a single straight line or a single curve. One pair of sides has a length different from the other pair of sides. The surface covering has a natural appearance such that a repeating pattern is not readily apparent.

A surface covering comprises multiple units adapted to mate with one another and cover a surface. Each said unit comprises at least one primary rotational tessellation element that defines the sides of the unit, has an irregular configuration, includes a face having molded surface irregularities or variations therein, and has at least two pairs of irregularly shaped sides. Preferably, gaps of variable width are defined between visible edges of adjacent units in the surface covering. The surface covering has a natural appearance such that a repeating pattern is not readily apparent. A structural wall unit system is also provided.
Abstract:
A paving stone for interlocking with similar adjacent paving stones, having a rectangular block shape. Three single spacers and three spacer pairs extend from the paving stones' lateral surfaces. Each single spacer and each spacer of the spacer pairs have a crest positioned a distance D1 from the lateral surface. Two of the spacer pairs and two of the single spacers are respectively positioned opposite one another on the long lateral surfaces. One of the spacer pairs and one of the single spacers is positioned on the short lateral surfaces. When used with other paving stones having the same features, the single spacers of one paving stone are positioned in troughs of the spacer pairs of another paving stone to provide a structural interlock and create narrow joints between adjacent paving stones. Multiple paving stones can be aligned in multiple configurations, such as herringbone, runner bond, and basketweave patterns.
