Abstract:
A flexible shock absorbing component providing cushioning for surfaces, especially wall and floor surfaces, is described. The shock absorbing component includes two sheets of thermoplastic, each sheet with inwardly facing, opposing, resiliently compressible indentations extending into a cavity between the two sheets. The shock absorbing component also includes a layer of particulate matter applied to and adhered to the outer surface of one of the sheets, to provide wear and weather resistance. A moderator may also be attached to the outer surface of the sheet.

Abstract:
A porous pavement construction formed from environmental porous pavement materials is formed with a number of aqueduct channels located underneath the pavement surface, so that water can percolate downward into the pavement and enter the channels. Methods of forming this pavement structure are also discussed.
Abstract:
A paving machine forms aqueduct channels using a screed assembly having elongated forming arms, and deposits pavement material onto these arms. As the machine advances, channels are formed in the pavement layer. This results in a porous pavement material having a number of aqueduct channels formed underneath the pavement surface, so that water can percolate downward into the pavement and enter the channels.
Abstract:
A preformed surfacing for a pavement is in the form of a sheet of flexible material containing cavities open to its upper surface and interconnected by ducts beneath the surface so that when laid down on a prepared subsurface having a drainage slope, water falling on the surfacing can drain away through the cavities and ducts. The sheet can be fixed to the subsurface by anchors bonded into cavities in the sheet.
