Abstract:
Flooring material comprising board shaped floor elements with a rectangular oblong shape, which are provided with edges, a lower side and a decorative upper surface. The flooring material further includes joining profiles separate from the basic material of the floor elements. The floor elements may become fixed adjacent to each other, wherein the fixation is effective both horizontally and vertically. The vertical fixation is obtained through at least one of the joining profiles, which is not involved in the horizontal fixation.
Abstract:
The present technology relates to connection joints for surface coverings which includes but is not limited to floor coverings and building panels. Embodiments of the present technology include connection joints that are strong and allow for the use of less material than is needed for tongue and groove connection joints. In embodiments related to floor coverings, these advantages are accomplished by reducing total thickness of a floor plank while increasing the thickness of the wear layer relative to the overall thickness of the floor plank and still be able to maintain a structurally strong connection joint.
Abstract:
The present disclosure concerns a system, methods and compositions for attaching architectural panels to a building surface, such as a wall. In certain embodiments, the system comprises panels, each with upper, lower and side interlocking members. In a preferred embodiment, the upper and lower interlocking members form a modified tongue and groove joint, with a 45 degree angle interface, while the side interlocking members form a ship lap joint. The upper and lower interlocking members may be designed to press the panels against the building surface and to hide the locations of screws or other attachment devices when the interlocking members are engaged. The system provides a stronger and more secure attachment of panels to a building surface, while eliminating the problem of having to disguise the location of the attachment devices where such devices are inserted directly through the surface of the panel.
Abstract:
An apparently seamless lengthened bamboo sheet is formed by lengthening a plurality of bamboo strips or blanks and assembling a plurality of lengthened bamboo strips or blanks together. A slot is formed on at least one end of the bamboo strips or blanks in direction of length, and a tenon corresponding to the slot is formed on the same end; the tenon on one bamboo strip or blank is embedded into the slot on another bamboo strip or blank. The tenon and slot are mutually matched and the two bamboo strips or blanks are engaged to each other. A method to manufacture is the apparently seamless lengthened bamboo sheet includes: forming a slot and a tenon on the end of bamboo strips or blanks; embedding a tenon at one end of one bamboo strip or blank into a slot on one end of another bamboo strip or blank; assembling and gluing a plurality of lengthened bamboo strips or blanks in direction of width or thickness; forming the bamboo sheet by a common process including pressing. The slot-tenon connecting structure of the present invention makes the seams on the surface unobvious and enhances the connection strength.
Abstract:
A novel planking system utilizing an inventive groove design is provided. The novel groove is defined by two opposing side walls and a groove end wall. The groove side walls present two generally opposed tongue-engaging projections that automatically provide a uniform space between planks during installation, and accommodate expansion of the planks after installation by breaking away when force is exerted on the projections by an adjacent plank. The present invention is also concerned with a combination of planks having an inventive tongue-and-groove configuration, as well as inventive methods of assembling planks to accommodate the expansion and contraction of the assembled planks after installation.
Abstract:
Floor panels are shown, which are provided with a mechanical locking system having tongue and grooves provided with protrusions and cavities which are displaceable in relation to each other and configured such that the protrusions can obtain a vertically unlocked position where they match the cavities and a vertically locked position where the protrusions overlap each other.
Abstract:
Interlocking panels include a frame configured as a perimeter of a panel, the frame including at least one engageable frame portion. The panel defines at least one side opening disposed adjacent the engageable frame portion(s) so that one panel may be attached to another panel by at least one connection means passing through the side opening(s) to capture the engageable frame portion(s).
Abstract:
Flooring material comprising board shaped floor elements which are provided with edges, a lower side and a decorative upper surface. The floor elements are intended to be joined by means of separate joining profiles. All four edges are provided with one notch-like groove each. The grooves are arranged parallel to its respective edge. The joining profiles are provided with lips arranged in pairs. The lips are intended to each be received by one of the grooves so that the floor elements with the grooves at the adjacent edges will be guided or fixed vertically via the lips of a joining profile. The lips are joined by a middle section of the joining profile. The grooves are furthermore provided with an undercut while the lips are provided with hooks that matches the undercut whereby adjacent floor elements will be guided or fixed horizontally via the undercuts and the hooks.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a flooring panel which comprises a supporting plate made of wood material and provided on at least one face with a covering. The supporting plate is provided at its edges with tongues and grooves which fit into and onto corresponding grooves and tongues on further similar panels. Each edge of the supporting plate has both a groove and a tongue to provide a firm connection.
Abstract:
A method of flooring using butting panels fixed to a frame primarily of joists, joints transverse of the longitudinal axes of the joists being largely unnogged. To support such joints unsupported by a framing element reliance is placed on panel edge to panel edge adhesion. In a preferred form particle board panels each provided with an edge groove have the effect of ensuring both a sufficient availability of adhesive for an effective butt joint whilst, in addition, providing a keying or splining between the adjacent panels.
