Abstract:
Method and arrangement for providing and controlling operation of a dual sided opening roof mount cargo box for a carrying vehicle. A dual sided opening roof mount cargo box is provided and which has a lid portion releasably hinge-connected at two lateral sides to a bottom portion of the cargo box for alternate pivotation at each of the two lateral sides between open and closed configurations. The bottom portion is adapted to be mounted to a carrying vehicle and the lid portion is manufactured from a semi-flexible material sufficiently pliable to permit two opposite end regions thereof to be at different relative distances from the bottom portion of the cargo box during transition between the open and closed configurations. A pair of spring-biased struts are also provided, each operatively interposed between the lid portion and the bottom portion of the cargo box, and one each of the pair of spring-biased struts being located at the two opposite end regions of the cargo box. An expansively directed force is imposed on the lid portion, utilizing the pair of spring-biased struts, across a substantial entirety of travel of the lid portion during operator induced movement from the closed configuration to the open configuration and thereby assisting the operator to smoothly open the cargo box.

Abstract:
A stay for opening and closing of a door does not become a hindrance when the door is open and is visually uncluttered. The stay has: a main body mounted to a housing; an arm having one end rotatably connected to the main body; a biasing element on the main body and biasing the arm so the arm rotates in at least one direction; an arm slider mounted to the arm and slidable in the longitudinal direction of the arm; and a mounting seat installed on the door and rotatably connected to the slider. As the slider is slidable relative to the arm and rotatable relative to the mounting seat installed on the door, an opening and closing force can be transmitted to the door from the one arm without requiring two links. Thus, the stay does not become a hindrance to a user and is visually uncluttered.
Abstract:
The present invention provides for apparatus and methods for operating a garage door. An embodiment of an operating assembly for a door includes a shaft, a graduated drum, and an energy storing member. The shaft is coupled to the door such that the shaft rotates in a first direction as the door is opened and rotates in a second direction as the door is closed. The coupling of the shaft to the door is typically accomplished by a cable. The graduated drum is coupled to the shaft and the energy storing member is coupled to the graduated drum by another cable. The energy storing member is arranged such that the energy storing member stores energy as the door is closed and releases stored energy as the door is opened to assist in the raising and lowering of the door.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for vertical-movement doors comprises two articulated-quadrilateral hinges each including a first plate designed to be fastened to the furniture flanks, a second plate designed to be fastened to the door and two superposed arms pivotally mounted between the plates to form the quadrilateral connecting-rods. The assembly comprises brackets for removable fastening of the bar ends to the hinges, where the brackets can be alternatively mounted at two different fastening seats present at locations spaced apart from each other, along the upper arm of each hinge.
Abstract:
An apparatus including a frame forming an internal cavity, the frame having an opening for accessing the internal cavity, a first door and a second door mounted to the frame and a door coupling mechanism for effecting a substantially simultaneous movement of the first door and second door relative to the frame, the door coupling mechanism including a first door link, a second door link and at least one ternary link, the first door link being rotatably coupled to the first door and the at least one ternary link, the second door being rotatably coupled to the second door and the at least one ternary link.
Abstract:
A lifting device for a two-leaf folding door is provided, whose upper leaf is pivotally mounted about a horizontal first axis on a top or intermediate wall of a body, and whose lower leaf is pivotally connected with the upper leaf about a second axis parallel to the first axis, and having at least one two-armed lever which is pivotally mounted about a horizontal swivel axis on a lateral body part and whose longer arm is pivotally connected with the lower leaf, a hinge for pivotally connecting the two leaves, which is provided with a hinge pot to be inserted in one of the leaves, a hinge arm to be fixed at the other leaf, and a swivel axis which is arranged in the hinge pot such that its distance (A) from the nearest edge of the other leaf reduced by the distance (T) from the inner surface of its own leaf, has a value (F) which is smaller than the thickness of the finger of a user, and in the closed condition of the folding door, the swivel axes of the lever of the lifting device are arranged such that together with the swivel axis between the two leaves and the swivel axis of a hinge connecting the upper leaf with the upper body wall, they form a four-link system, whose opposite legs extend approximately parallel to each other and whose lengths do not differ from each other by more than 20%.
Abstract:
A glass-front merchandiser that includes a case. The case includes a base that has a forward portion and a rear portion. The merchandiser further includes an upper case frame, a glass member, and at least one pivot arm. The upper case frame is coupled to the rear portion of the base and extends substantially above a product display area defined by the case. The glass member includes an upper edge portion that defines an axis of curvature and a lower edge portion that is supported by the forward portion. The at least one pivot arm includes a first end that is pivotally coupled to the upper case frame, and a second end that is disposed at an oblique angle from the first end. The second end is coupled to the upper edge portion of the glass member substantially orthogonal to the axis of curvature.
Abstract:
An integrated gas strut actuator assembly particularly adapted for providing power actuation of a motor vehicle lift gate or other opening closure. The assembly integrates the function of a counterbalancing gas spring and that of a electrically powered actuator. The integrated gas strut assembly includes a gas charged cylinder, internal plunger and a threaded rod. Rotation of the threaded rod through a cable drive system causes the internal plunger to be advanced or retracted within the cylinder. Other features of the invention are various embodiments of couplers between the plunger and rod and connectors for connecting the assembly to the vehicle.
