    摘要: A spacer for maintaining a gap between a slit valve door and a sealing surface of a slit valve body, such as a metallic insert is described. The spacer can extend the life of a seal by limiting the line of sight exposure of the seal to corrosive gases within a wafer processing chamber, for example, and by controlling the compression percentage of the seal. The spacer may be located on an outer ambient side of the slit valve away from any corrosive gasses that may exist in the chamber. The spacer may be attached to the slit valve door partially in a depression therein, and may be integral with the seal. Further, the present invention provides improvements to a standard slit valve assembly that enhance the effectiveness of the slit valve and the spacer. These improvements include a barrier material to protect the seal, a labyrinth to reduce particle energy, a skew-plane slit valve door, and a recess with sidewalls to continue the geometry of the process chamber in order to move the collision plane away from the seal plane.

The valve includes a solenoid coil and armature connected to a valve mechanism, with the valve mechanism including a conduit having a connection opening, an oppositely-disposed pocket, and a sprung gate assembly linearly movable between the connection opening and the pocket. The sprung gate assembly includes a first gate member with an opening, a second gate member with an opening, and an endless elastic band retained between the first and second gate members, with the openings and endless elastic band collectively defining a passage through the sprung gate assembly, with the first and second gate members being mechanically coupled to the armature for reciprocating linear movement between the connection opening and the pocket. The endless elastic band allows an interference fit within the pocket with reduced frictional opposition to gate movement.

    摘要: A valve for a vacuum drainage system includes a valve body having an interior chamber operatively connectable to a suction device and through an outlet to a vacuum source. A movable member having an aperture is secured within the chamber and movable through points between closed and open positions to adjust the open area of the aperture and the fluid flow through the outlet. The aperture is configured such that during adjustment to increase the effective operational area of the aperture, a rate of change of the effective operational area increases non-linearly in relation to a linear increase in the distance of travel, while providing advantageous and more controllable linear adjustment of the applied vacuum. The aperture can have a trilateral shape including at least one curved side, or comprise a plurality of sub-apertures, and the movable member can comprise a rotary sleeve.

    摘要: A valve for connection in a pipeline or duct for the conveyance of a fluent medium includes a valve plate which is movable laterally relative to the duct between respective open and closed positions, with resilient sealing means provided on or in association with the valve plate. The sealing means is provided on an axially movable member to engage one face of the valve plate, while the opposed sealing means is carried by a fixed end member so that the valve plate is clamped between them. Either of the sealing means may be omitted. A ram actuates the valve plate by rotation of a shaft while simultaneously rotating a control ring forming part of the control mechanism which moves the member axially to clamp and release the valve plate.
