    摘要: An apparatus for a planar phase array antenna is provided. The planar phase array antenna includes a planar waveguide formed by a top ground and a bottom ground with a dielectric layer between the top ground and the bottom ground, a phase array, including radiators, configured to form an electromagnetic wave front inside the planar waveguide, at least one back side reflecting structure located behind the phase array, and at least one deflecting structure, implemented in the dielectric layer, configured to deflect the electromagnetic wave front inside the planar waveguide, wherein a permittivity value of the at least one deflecting structure is not equal to a permittivity value of the dielectric layer of the planar waveguide.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for converting electromagnetic surface waves from TE mode to TM mode or from TM mode to TE mode. The apparatus includes a dielectric surface having an anisotropic impedance tensor which is preferably obtained by a plurality of electrically conductive unit cells disposed on the dielectric surface and arranged in a two dimensional array of unit cells, a majority of the unit cells in said array being divided into at least two portions, with at least one gap separating the at least two portions from each other into two or more patches or plates, the array of unit cells having a surface wave input end and a surface wave output end, gaps in the unit cells disposed closest to the surface wave input end having a first orientation and gaps in said unit cells disposed closest to the surface wave output end having a second orientation different than said first orientation. The electromagnetic surface waves have a frequency greater than a TE cutoff frequency determined by a second solution of Maxwell's equations for said dielectric surface.

    摘要: Embodiments are disclosed of an orthomode transducer (OMT) device for splitting a linear orthogonally polarized electromagnetic signal into a plurality of linearly polarized frequency components and vice versa. The device comprises a rectangular or circular guide section having a constant cross-section perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of said guide section and first and second lengthwise opposed open ends, a septum that is successively increased in height; extending from an end of the a waveguide portion towards a second lengthwise open end of the guide section, wherein that the plane of said septum is provided at an angle of 45 degrees relative to the polarization axes of the orthogonal linear polarization modes and said septum induces a differential phase shift of substantially 180 degrees or a multiple thereof between components of the linear polarization modes that are perpendicular to said septum and components that are parallel to said septum.

The satellite signal receiving apparatus includes a feedhorn that receives a satellite signal; a low noise block down converter that processes the signal received by the feedhorn; a skew compensating device that is provided at the low noise block down converter or the feedhorn and rotates the low noise block down converter or the feedhorn to compensate for a skew angle when the satellite signal received by the feedhorn is a linearly polarized wave; a polarizer that receives a linearly polarized signal and a circularly polarized signal of the satellite signal; and a polarizer rotating device that rotates the polarizer when the satellite signal received by the polarizer is a circularly polarized wave. In such a simple structure, the linearly polarized wave and the circularly polarized wave are all received to be processed.
