The processor(s) is configured to control CLS to illuminate given part of field of view of IS at a first instant, while controlling IS to capture first image (FImg). The image segment(s) represent a given part as illuminated and remaining image segment(s) represent a remaining part of the FOV as non-illuminated. The processor controls the CLS to illuminate the remaining part at second instant, while controlling IS to capture a second image whose image segment(s) represents a given part as non-illuminated and a remaining image segment(s) represents a remaining part as illuminated. Output image is generated based on: (i) image segment(s) of FImg and remaining image segment(s) of SImg, and/or (ii) remaining image segment(s) of FImg and image segment(s) of SImg.

The light redirecting layer includes a plurality of subunit sections, each of the plurality of subunit sections respectively includes the plurality of three dimensional geometric patterns with different physical dimensions for respectively receiving and redirecting light emission of different wavelengths of a first light signal emitted by the first light emitter toward the first eye of the viewer with different incident angles, the first light signal corresponds to a first pixel of an image. The plurality of three dimensional geometric patterns include pillar like three dimensional nanostructure protruding from a surface of the light redirecting layer.

摘要: Various embodiments and configurations of optical imaging systems are described herein that utilize a metalens for narrowband deflection of target frequencies. For example, one embodiment of a multifrequency metalens includes an in-plane spatially multiplexed array of frequency-specific nanopillars or frequency-specific rows/columns of nanopillars that are intermingled with one another. In other embodiments, transmissive metalenses and/or reflective metalenses are tuned to focus color-separated visible light into red, green, and blue (RGB) channels of a digital image sensor.

摘要: Methods of manufacturing an optical device can include, in some implementations, providing a substrate having a first polymeric layer on a surface of the substrate and a second polymeric layer on the first polymeric layer, forming first openings in the second polymeric layer to define an etch mask composed of material of the second polymeric layer, and etching to form second openings in the first polymeric layer, wherein locations of the second openings are defined by the etch mask. A material is deposited in the second openings to form meta-atoms of a first metastructure, wherein adjacent ones of the meta-atoms are separated from one another by polymeric material of the first polymeric layer. Optical devices including metastructures can be formed, where meta-atoms of the metastructure have a relatively high aspect ratio.
